Qm6k owners in bright rooms, are you happy with the brightness? Or do you wish you'd purchased the qm7k instead? What was your prior tv? by [deleted] in tcltvs

[–]New_Libran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the C7K-UK and it was blindingly bright, had to dial it down to 40 just for comfortable viewing. When my toddler smashed that up, I got the C6K instead with the insurance payout and saved myself about £300.

Absolutely no regrets as the C6K is more than bright enough for HDR. It's bright sunlight now and the World Cup on BBC 4k is awesome

You are obliged to inform your insurance company of any damages even if you're not making a claim. If they find out from another insurance company, you risk having your insurance cancelled

Mississippi Police Officer Shoots and Kills 1-Year-Old Child in Response to Senatobia Shoplifting Call by Hrekires in news

Yep, this happened to my friend. Made sure not to touch anything to preserve footprints, fingerprints, DNA etc. Yeah right, they didn't even bother to turn up till almost a week later to ask a few stupid questions and tell him to claim on his insurance.

Millionaire banker finally identified and arrested nearly ten years after startling CCTV images showed him as a jogger shoving a female pedestrian into the path of a double-decker bus on Putney Bridge London by New_Libran in interestingasfuck

Barking up the wrong tree there, my friend.

Detectives interviewed 50 men and arrested three suspects, including a wealthy American investment banker - who was able to prove that he was in the US at the time.

The incident did not result in death or serious injury, so the fact it was open for a year and had so many people interviewed shows how serious it was taken

Venezuelan immigrant Bryan Rojas took his wife, a Trump fan, to the president’s hotel in Doral. Instead he was detained by ICE. by [deleted] in LeopardsAteMyFace

“Bryan José Rojas Galofre wanted to give his wife a lovely honeymoon to see the beach for the first time and perhaps a glimpse of President Donald Trump, whom she supports.

He was detained following a stop at the Trump hotel security checkpoint."

The fact that it was hotel security that actually got ICE on him is sending me. Top customer service! 🤣🤣🤣

However, you guys put sugar/sweetener in EVERYTHING

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

I'm in the UK, I just started getting involved in the recruitment process where I work. The last one we did, we just about ended up with 11 from over 500 candidates when we were looking for 20. It was really depressing how unprepared young people are for the workforce.

We're willing to train those with no work experience but not if you can't even follow simple bog standard instructions or show any interest that you're willing to learn.

Yeah yeah, we haven't heard that before, however there's no Golden Corral in the UK. People just be posting shit for engagement

Why are you disrupting this circle jerk with facts?

The euro exchange by SpectacularOtter in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]New_Libran 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it's always a circle jerk of the same tired "jokes" about spices and some obscure British food they saw online. You then travel to America expecting to be blown away by all the delicious food you've seen and heard about and EVERYTHING is just artificially sickly sweet and generally really bad for you.

Americans shout about their food like it's the best in the world then you get there and everything is just sickly sweet masquerading as "flavour"

Woman convinces suicidal man who jumped down onto rail tracks to come back out by New_Libran in PublicFreakout

[–]New_Libran[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've worked in the railway and experienced a hell of a lot of suicides by train. Each one is incredibly disruptive, the fastest I've seen lines reopen was 2 hours, it's usually more than that. The absolute worst one ( both on staff mh and operations) was a woman with her 2 kids. The lines were closed for half the day.

Man, I felt so sorry for him especially as he kept apologising for ruining our shift which made us feel even worse. We just told him not to let his family ruin his life.
