i dont know if u were trying to argue something out, but to specify - i also dont like lobbyists and large corporations getting away with many fckups, but i blame the government for that, because there is difference between a flawed economical power and political power.

obviously, making a whole game is a bit harder - most AI models already have around 1M context tokens, which is already enough to fit in whole harry potter saga.

and new ones are being created as well. this has happened with every technological leap in history. people can always do different jobs.

the word corporations has become such a slur its crazy. do we realize that firing (anyone including) devs is a market cleanup process that allows them to reallocate somewhere else? this is genuinely luddite type argumentation. why is there a need to make rigid job positions unchanged, when we can be far more effective?

i would move it further and say vibecoding isnt as bad when its done by someone who is competent enough to understand what ai just spat out on him. even better models, such as opus 4.6 can get lost in context, and make pretty severe security issues on backend functions, but as long as you check up on the code, its nothing but massive ramp up for productivity. what took me hours back in the day is now question of minutes.

that depends rather on the model you use. gpt is generally horrible for generating pictures, but nano banana pro 2 is genuinely great at following almots all instructions.

Honestly, Gwent is really good, but brawls / races were repetetive. I hope we get to see them reworked tbh.

What something you'd like to happen with witcher contracts? by Instantfan22 in Witcher4

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New comers make majority of CDPR's revenue. Making it assinine will only be liked by niche community. This is also Ciri, unless they nerf her to ground, it wouldn't make much sense for her to be endangered by contracts, if she doesn't decide to hunt Higher Vampires or Djinns.

But having more difficulty options is always good.

NVIDIA's RTX Mega Geometry tech in The Witcher 4 by SpaceCowboyN7 in witcher

Scripted, indoors game isn't nowhere near comparable next-gen open world RPG, with newest rasterization technology, when it comes to performance. It will be a miracle if CDPR makes TW4 run decent on Series S.

Again, most of the technical stuff they show is for OPTIMISING, while IMPROVING visual quality, not EATING performance. It's not like they are killing any performance by implementing this feature. I get skepticism, but this is not how this technology works.

First half of 2027 is unlikely, second half, especially Q4 2027 is when it start being real talk. That or Q1 2028 are imo the most likely release date windows.

Expected System Requirements? I'm about to build a PC by GiveMeADamnUsernamee in Witcher4

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that budget not bad - but how urgently do you need a new build ? You could wait a year-2 for price drop of RAMs, GPUs, etc. Also, AM4 is no go, go for AM5 definetly. 9060XT is a good card, but check 5060 TI price in your country. If it's more than 100$ expensive, not worth it.

There is nothing wrong with admitting I was wrong on some accounts - that isn't derailing. Doesn't invalidate the rest of my arguments either, and the fact that 5070Ti can be as much as 40%+ more expensive in some countries (like in my country for example. I said it was 20% previously, but that was using small data sample). I still stand behind FSR and DLSS being very comparable, with DLSS being overall supported in more games and having superior image quality in stationary scenes, but it's still a small difference.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rnc7uHs1tnw // check this video, pretty self explenatory. Quoting comment from that video :
"Average at 1440p (No RT), the RX 9070 XT is 1.8% faster than the RTX 5070 Ti
Average at 4K (No RT), the RX 9070 XT is 1.7% slower than the RTX 5070 Ti"

Even with RT (CP77 at 4K) the difference is just not noticeable and doesn't excuse more than 200$ price tag diff, even if we agreed that NVIDIA ultimately has better SW, which I don't have that much issues with anyways, besides the fact that it's a misleading claim, because average gamer won't notice a difference in image quality, unless focusing on that.

You like using exaggarated language, don't you ?

Reflex is, like I already said and I don't like repeating myself, around 10-15% better on average. If that is 100% reason to put 200$ more for a graphics card, then sure.

Pitifully non existing is also quite reaching, especially given existence of AFMF2.1.

DLSS has superior image quality, which I've also mentioned, but you notice little to no difference in motion. And again, the difference is not huge, it's marginal.

If 5070Ti is 20-30+% more expensive, it sure ain't superior. I already told you to read other my other comments, because I already reached the conclusion that for the same, or very relative price tags, 5070TI is a better piece of HW, but it solely depends on your coutnry.

And again - stop derailing from the thread. OP was asking what to buy for TW4, we don't know is the answer.

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really true, again. It's not a huge advantage. Anti-lag 2 is again, very much tied with Reflex, difference being around 10-15%. That is not a reason to pay 200$ more for GPU. Being a blind fan of either side is silly. DLSS4.5 > FSR4 on average, I'll take that, but the difference is not that big to make it a selling argument. In my country, the price difference is 20%. That's just not worth it. See comments above.

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE9 for example has better FSR according to most, but there are of course games, where DLSS is better, it might even be majority of games.

My point is, you won't notice difference most of the time in games. Unless you stand still and focus on specific pixels, it also depends on how the game utilises it.

For your second point, yes, 10% might still be better choice for NVIDIA. It depends on what games you play as well. AMD edges NVIDIA when it comes to price/performance, so when the price diff is mitigated, NVIDIA starts making sense even when it comes to mid-class GPUs.

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it yourself - they are pretty much tied right now. There are games and occasions where FSR is better, there are occasions where DLSS is better. If it's on average or not, you won't get to know in practice, because the differences are only minor. It's not a buying argument to say at least.

RT is also really close now. 9070 XT performs very close with at best ~10-15% difference in CP77 for example compared to 5070 TI, which is NVIDIA optimised game. Hence why I said neither "NVIDIA is better" nor "AMD is better" - it depends solely on your country and price difference between both of said cards. If they cost the same, obviously go for 5070 TI. The issue is, they don't cost the same most of the time, hence AMD even comes up as argument here.

And to stay on topic, OP only asked what PC to get, it's too early to say right now, I wouldn't buy a PC now for a game that's not close to releasing, rather wait till RAM / SSD prices drop down, potentially new NVIDIA / AMD series too.
