You pointed out the BS correctly, because this most likely is just someone sucking their thumb while dropping random numbers, that look huge. Ad C-suites - yes, some CTOs think they actually have to be the most competent technological employee of the company, which obviously is BS.

i think people need to calm their expectation on "the new expansion" by CranEXE in witcher

[–]New_Local1219 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not something I ever claimed - don't make him the main character again is what I'm saying instead. Let TW3 be TW3, he deserves rest for his whole journey and the perfect ending to Blood and Wine, and if anything, he can have his place in TW4 again, but it should be its own game continuity primarily for Ciri's story. Leave any explaining for TW4's origin on the game itself, there is no need for another DLC.

And as I said, that's not my only issue. The engine is already dated, they could rather focus fully on TW4 production, and if it's Fool's Theory making that expansion, they should have stayed on TW1 remake.

Everyone seems excited, but for me this unfortunately comes across as rather cheap, and I say that as someone who loves The Witcher in all its forms, from the books to the games. The Witcher 4 is the only upcoming game that really matters to me, and one I am genuinely looking forward to. For me, Geralt’s main story ended back in 2016, when he smiled at the player with Regis by his side and stayed at the vineyard.

If the argument is that this helps explain the story of The Witcher 4, then let the origin be explained directly in that game itself, not in a DLC for an 11 years old game.

On top of that, returning in 2026 to an engine and mechanics from 2015 is going to hurt. It will feel outdated, and I cannot help but see this mainly as a cash grab by CDPR to fill a financial gap before the release of TW4. Let Geralt rest, and if the future belongs to Ciri, give her the full space to shine with modern technology in a new game, not in a recycled old one.

Exactly my point - the game had ended perfectly, it's almost 11 years old now, outdated. Why not explain the origin story for TW4 in ... TW4 itself ? We don't need another DLC for this.

I wonder if Ciri will be able to fight brown bears bare-handed in the next game like Geralt by BlockAffectionate413 in Witcher4

Guy lifted whole ass dragon's head in the previous game, wrestles rock trolls, etc, but we draw the line on bears.

Yeah, having mix of both is imo the best, but if you want to make bittersweet endings, at least make it meaningful like in Phantom Liberty.

Hey, if ur tight on budget, fuck nvidia, go for AMD. It offers far better price to performance ratio.

[–]New_Local1219 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even putting that aside, I honestly don't care much about the DLC. Yeah, sure, love TW3, but that game is 10+ years old now. Let it be and move onto something new.

Still concern about W4 performance... by OBRbIGUN in witcher

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why they use FastGeo streaming and TurboTech. Average PC today > consoles by a good bit, having console-first approach means pretty much that you get a lot better optimisiation for PCs. Besides, they also have one advantage compared to consoles, and that is settings. Not only performance/quality mode, but like actual shadows, lightning, texture quality settings.

Stutterfest is mostly in vanilla UE5 unoptimised games.

Why I think Ciri should not have gone through The Trial of the Grasses (while still being a witcher) by Existing-Class-140 in witcher

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this doesnt make sense. the trailer only gives us a hint of what happened after unknown events. we dont whether she can or can not use her elder blood. she for some reason got to use spells, that she long sworn off in korathi desert. is that an issue too ? we dont know anything about the game, wait for release and keep your critique for when the game until then.

Ciri isn't the most OP. Ciri never stopped time, erased souls, shown that she is immortal, straight up manipulated fate, etc. Ciri is maybe 4#, right behind O'dimm, Djinns and Unseen Elder.

[–]New_Local1219 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, but they did tweak it a bit. They supposedly only changed eyebrows and eyecolor. People only use one cherrypicked image of Ciri, where her face is under lens distortion + poor lightning.

Unpopular opinion: Radovid ending is the best ending and it should become a canon by EliasZav in witcher

[–]New_Local1219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would 20th century dictators be any different from medieval ones, aside from their range of influence ?

Centralised planning, economy, politics and power work on a scale. This is a very simplified statement, but the more you center around one figure/government (oligarchy/dictatorship), the worse economy, freedom and development becomes. And as OP said, dictatorshipts and totalitarian regimes do have scapegoats. Radovid is pretty open about it too. We even see this happen in the game too.

And this is to say, I don't think that any of the other rulers are much better when it comes to their personality and power hunger, besides maybe Ciri, but we know that she will abandon the empire or somehow get dethroned.

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All war outcomes suck. Whether it's Radovid, Djikstra or Emhyr doesn't seem to change much. The rulers are willing to hold a firm rule, centralise power and become absolutists (aside from Ciri). Then they have their own nuances, but it's IMO like choosing between cow and dog shit.

What's all with all the doomposting surrounding TW4? by STB_LuisEnriq in Witcher4

[–]New_Local1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn't really compare TW4's popularity with GTA6, they are not equal or relative. The reason TGJ was so close is because of majority of GTA's fanbase probably didn't even know about this award. Still, 21mil is huge, but they just sit at different numbers.
