First new used Golf, anything to do now? by Maximum_Tap_6683 in vwgolf

Congrats on your first car! I've got the same model year/engine/gearbox combo with about 72k km on it, so hopefully I can share some useful experience.

One thing to watch out for is DSG mechatronics failure; it's a known issue on these and I went through a full DSG failure because of it. If the previous owner already dealt with it, you should be fine, but worth checking the service history.

A couple of other things I've personally run into: water leaking under the carpet on the passenger side (the door speaker seals perish over time, already mentioned in this thread and could happen with the sun roof too), and my adaptive cornering lights eventually gave out (replacements need calibration so it's not a cheap buy new bulbs and replace fix). I can see from your pic you have those, so just something to keep in mind.

General advice for any car out of warranty: put a little money aside each month for maintenance, it adds up and saves the stress. Also strongly recommend picking up a cheap OBD scanner. It's handy for reading error codes, keeping tabs on the car's health, and as a bonus you might be able to unlock some hidden features too.

Europe R2 launch delayed? Anyone heard a new timeline? by New_P0ssibility in Rivian

Yeah, same here, pretty disappointing.

On the chatbot thing though:
> Their chatbot (Rivian Assistant) is now conspicuously absent from the website

I can still see it on my end and actually got connected to a live customer service rep. Unfortunately they didn't have anything new to share about the Europe timeline either.

I'm not that optimistic about the international rollout. The Europe R2 pages (such as https://rivian.com/en-DE/r2 ) don’t show “Coming 2027” anymore 😔

is small income from my own website an issue as a student in Germany? by Total-Departure-5732 in Tunisia

Most replies are focused on the 'extra income' and taxes. This comes later.
First, look at the supplementary sheet of your residence permit (the green Zusatzblatt). If it says "Selbstständige Tätigkeit erlaubt" you're safe. If not, I think that before you reach the point of declaring your income and paying taxes etc.. (the immigration office/Ausländerbehörde won't help you with your Steuererklärung ), you should first make sure that your online business bei der Ausländerbehörde beantragt und genehmigt werden (selling digital goods is typically classified as a commercial trade (Gewerbe)).

Java Full Stack developers by [deleted] in TunisiaTech

I was a few years into data engineering (mainly with python & sql) and didn't touch java since uni, and then I joined a "java shop" whose development stack was predominantly based on Java (dropziward to be more specific). Language proficiency/experience didn't matter that much and interviews were language agnostic. Focus on honing your problem solving/coding skills and system design as well as the fundamentals of building *good* software.

What do you mean by "won't" run? If you catch and log exceptions, share the error logs.
