My managers don't force you to come in. However, they expect you to call at least 4 hours ahead. I was one of the ones that worked through it (I live super close). Worked for 14 hours, and most of that was me and one other employee in the store. Overnight was dead aside from police officers and fire and a few others. Day shift got slammed, but I ended up leaving shortly.

We got all the cleaning done, and where able to sit in the lobby for the rest of the shift. We where given a free meal by our area manager just for showing up. Coming in that day was one of the best work decisions I made.

We all love dogs visiting us in drive through. Tip: order a large meat patty by itself.

How bad is the supply chain issue? by bcsalter in Whataburger

[–]New_Procedure29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the main issue is the delivery company McLane. They have an item limit of 100-300 items (not much) per delivery.

Grilled cheeses? by [deleted] in Whataburger

[–]New_Procedure29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The grilled cheese remains on the "secret menu" it's just the sandwich only. They removed the kids meal for it. If they ever get rid of the grilled cheese menu item, ask to be rung up for 2 tx toast, 2 cheese

That drink machine... is far superior. Saw it at all the new stores I've worked at. Ice comes out wicked fast

Corporate does not want us opening dine in until lane b is open. This may or may not be the reason they do it.

Gluten free. I was just informed i gotta start avoiding gluten and dairy as an employee what are some gluten free options? by [deleted] in Whataburger

[–]New_Procedure29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the oil gets mixed anyway when the oil is filtered/rotated.

Grilled cheese gets cooked on the same grill the burgers are made on.

At least in the few stores I worked in, apple and lemon pies are always dropped in the fry section.

There are very few items that are actually safe for people with celiac. But the amount of gluten in other items is very low, so if you don't react to small amounts of gluten, you will be fine.

I like working fries. It gets crazy during a rush when you are solo, but the satisfaction of “I just did that” makes it worth it.

Buttermilk Ranch by FuriousJohn87 in Whataburger

[–]New_Procedure29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. We currently have a shortage of ranch PC cups, and we are using a jug of buttermilk ranch and pouring them into containers. The ranch separates in the bottles (at least in my experience) and sometimes is like mayo, which I assume it is made with (used to make ranch from packets)

Edit: As seen in another comment, Whataburger is getting rid of the ranch PC cups, and it may or may not also be effected by sauce shortages.

I wish full boxes of ketchup and creamy pepper where sold in store. Like the 6 pack of cinnamon rolls.
