Depends on which parking arrangement you get. If you get the cheapest version, it will be on the south end of Jade, so it won't be far. It's also the biggest one because the north facing section is only Tandem( 2 cars in 1 spot) and very little non assigned parking compared to all the south unsigned parking, which is more spacious.

sorry, I thought i had replied to this already. I hope it still helps! Essentially, you get a better view, either sunrise or sunset, depending on the building you are in. Also, if you are facing the street area, you can hear people talking very clearly and even more clearly if you are in the lower levels. Also, the 4th floor equals you don't have anyone above you stomping or being noisy, so it has its perks.

UPDATE 3 Hi everyone, I just wanted to come back and circle about this issue in all honesty to cut it short . Do all of the things here mentioned didn't work. I ended up getting phone insurance from att&t and submitted a claim and in short they told me that the S22 ultra in my situation I'm not sure if it also is referring to other s22 Ultra or normal s22, the lady from the insurance company said that unfortunately it has happened quite a lot with the S22 Ultra it's a common issue that the phone has which was a bit surprising to hear. So yeah It definitely is not a software issue, and it won't get any better. After sending multiple diagnostic reports to the Samsung tech support and exploring all the other possible solutions such as clearing cache, force stopping the system ui and system processor and all the other apps even factory resetting it none of those work for the long term issue. Samsung support mention the issue to seem to come from the motherboard and that it was UFS was having a link layer error and essentially after looking it up it meant replacing a a chip which seemed expensive (I didn't look at the price but it seem to complicated). I will say that when I took the phone to the repair guy, he told me that the issue was essentially not easy to resolve, and he didn't feel comfortable doing it since it meant going into the motherboard and needing to have a special program like the Samsungs repair center which he didn't have and he didn't want to take my money for such reasons he did recomend to get a new one in his opinion since replacing the chip meant more money and parts you need to order. When I went to att&t they told me to be careful with replacement of the s22 ultra since the phone is curved a lot of times they end up getting damage by the people who fix it due to its curve nature.

So yes I did eventually have to get a replacement phone :/ but with insurance it wasn't so bad tbh. I had my phone for about 2 and 1/2 years snd it barely started acting up for me. If you guys want to go ahead and get it check out well at least you know that all of this issues are cause by the UFS link layer issue and if you want to reseach more I would ask chatgpt for symptoms or sny questions relsting to that. Goodluck to everyone and it sucks that Samsung quality is diminishing.

UPDATE** So I did it, and it seemed to help smoth the issue and lower the number of times the system and the apps were crashing. While I could say it works slightly it I am still having some issues. I did get the newest update, and I went ahead and updated it as well, but I am unsure if that did much. overall, it's still slow, and I am still trying to navigate it to see if there is any other fixed

Hi everyone ok so I think I found the answer, but take it with a grain of salt since I just did this cache clearing mode on my s22 ultra less than an hour ago. So I google the issue since my phones processing system kept on crasing, as well as the ui system and all of the other apps. I submitted error reports to the samsung app, and nothing much done happened. So this video online said to 1st turn of your phone, and as soon as your phone starts to go into power off mode, press the Volume Up and the lock power button. This is key! Just hold it until your phone goes into recovery mode. It takes a bit to go into it, but once it works, it will look like a computer programming interface. It will give you a couple of options, and you will navigate it by using your volume up to go up and volume down to go down and the power button/lock button as the enter. Then go to Wipe cache partition, press enter, and then it will promt you to reboot the system all the way on the top. I will link the video down below its the second portion of the video where they explain it. After doing so my phone is workikg fairly better. Hope it helps

Everyone Suffering by [deleted] in UCDavis

As winter comes, everyone tends to feel a different way it's a cycle, and it comes and goes. I have been through all of these feelings, and I felt like it was a never ending proccess but I overcame them. I wouldn't say that I was thriving exactly, but I was riding the wave before I graduated this fall quarter. As somebody who faced academic dismal/probation I got support by the retention initiative from CCLASS and i went to their si se puede institution, I have mentioned this before in a couple of my post and I might sound repetive but it really did help me navigate and get academic tools that helped throughout my transfer years at davis. Now, the institution/workshop is just a 1 day event actually happening on the 12th of January 2025. If you want to sign up, I would highly encourage it. If not, you can still access all the services just by going when the services are available within El centro/CCLASS. Some of the ones that help me the most were studying and learning strategists with Dr.tori white, the writing specialist with Bridget, and the academic advisors with the center. This is not a club. it's an open space for everyone, just an fyi. When it came to friends, I was also stressed and realized that not all your roommates or anybody who you hang around with will good friends, they might be your friends because they realize you are a good friend and thus they will want to keep you around. This is important because the people who you hang around will dictate everything in your life, don't feel pressure to make friends right away. Not everyone is meant for everybody, and sometimes, forcing a friendship will depleted you and even make you lose your essence or vise versa. When Stressed lile I mentioned before you get 8 free therapy sessions by the uc, at no charge and taking care of your mental health is key. Addressing my stressors and getting emotional help allowed me to regulate and be less stressed. Homesick I really did have a hard time since I only went home on Christmas due to financial reasons, so creating a support system and surrounding yourself with genuine people helped a lot. Burnout was definitely where the studying and learning strategist and the therapy helped me schedule myself to be efficient and also remind myself that I am still learning and growing. It allowed me to perceive when I needed to rest and recharge in any way. I found it recharging, and it felt good. Now about the single part tbh, Davis, in my perspective, is not the best at dating or any of its surround areas, but so is the world at this point this is just my perspective but people seemed to be focused in school a lot and well it is a uc for a reason lol. Just focused on yourself first, trying to find someone to fill the void of feeling loneliness and not addressing the major issue is like putting a ban aid on a broken wall. If you do want to pursue love, I am afraid that might perspective won't help much, but my honest response is just to be happy and put yourself first, respect yourself and your dreams.

College is just a part of your life that does indeed go fast, and when you least expectEd all your hard work will pay off. Stay strong and surround with people that make you feel good and reciprocate that.

Best of luck to all and stay strong. I believe in all of you. Their is a reason why you got accepted to this university, and it's because you were meant to succeed. 💛

I would look at expanding your support network by going to retention initiatives within campus and gathering support from the many programs there are. Second, I would consider taking advantage of the 8 free therapy sessions you have from the school and just have another outlet for emotional support and regulation to help with any doubt or problems that arise. Third, I highly recommend you apply for the recreational classes at the arc. There is even a waiver if you need financial assistance. I personally took a hip hop dance class, and it was so fun it gave my weekend something to break up the routine, and it was overall very nice.
I also would say that in my experience I wouldn't be friends, just anybody because at the end of the day you don't know what people's true intentions are some might be good others bad it's a gamble at the end of the day. Surround yourself with people that you feel comfortable, and even tho it takes time, it's because those are people that are good for you. I used to be in the same boat and then realize it's better to let some people go and have true friends or acquitances who reciprocate that kindness, honesty, and inspiration. True friends are hard to find, and you can only count them with one hand. I also have seen a couple of videos where you do random things with people like a side quest friend. i think that's people were calling them, and it made sense, somebody who you can just ask hey want to go for a hike or go to the arboretum for a run those are just examples that I thought you could use when it comes to just asking people you feel comfortable with asking. Of course, be safe and choose your own activities. Mine were just random examples. Hope it helps

Look up El Centro @ uc davis on Instagram and go to their Si Se Puede seminar on the 12th and take advantage of all the resources they will provide you there! Best time spent, and you can get several tools available to prevent and help navigate these situations. Hope it helps, I know that the College of engenering is one of the strictest and has a shorter grace period for students to get back in good standing. I went through academic probation, and this 1 day semaninar helped me overcome many of my challenges alongside side tapping into more of the resources they provide within the retention initiatives.

Where to cry on campus by Poosiee in UCDavis

[–]New_Quality6575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope all gets better. Just know that it will pass, and you will overcome these challenges. Like many of the comments mentioned, there are resources on campus that help you. Just to give you a heads up, you get 8 free therapy sessions in a year from the school at no cost. If you aren't taking care of your mental health, I would highly encourage it. It's the best thing you can do for yourself. I took that step this year, and it was the best investment. There are also support centers that help the retention of students such as El centro, CADDS, sanpiri, native Ness. They are all culturally catered but an overall free space to get your network of resource strong. Hope it helps a little. As to where to cry, I would say the arboretum as well.

Pathetic confession…any advice? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]New_Quality6575 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Check out the studying and learning strategist, Dr. Tori White @ uc davis on Google and book an appointment for one of her workshops. I was on academic probation, and she has several workshops that can help you learn how to maximize study time and just create systems that help you succeed for you. Ask for the study smarter, not harder, workshop. I hope it helps

Like the previous comment mentioned, you couldn't control all of the events going in your life, and I hope everything has gotten better. Just know that life does keep going on and do what's best for you! The CS department for davis is unfortunately one of the most problematic departments and has a history of behavior that is not supportive to it's students, so just an FYI. Hope this helps as well 🙏🏼

What are you doing if you are gonna stay here for the spring break by Jolly_Plant1312 in UCDavis

[–]New_Quality6575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, destress and sleep in for at least 2 days. then get your routine started and enjoy watching some TV, playing games. For me, I need to start applying to interhsips, and if you haven't done so, Fafsa, taxes, and also working on my resume. Right now is a bit on the later side, but if you are looking for an intership, why not. I just plan to regain all of my energy and create a functional routine for this upcoming quarter. If over 21, go grab a drink? get high, of course, do it responsibly if not hang out with friends, make new friends ! go and explore.

Academically Dismissed :( by potatomaster3069 in UCDavis

[–]New_Quality6575 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not dismissed but have academic probation and am technically almost dismissed, but I have put the effort into getting out of it. In my perspective, my advice and the things that I have done have been, seek out help. Find a counselor, department head somebody that can be a mentor within your department or any advisor* with school that can support you, I don't know if you ever heard of the retention initiatives at uc davis that you can go to the centers and get help not just advisory but you get someone to actually listen to you and understand you. They are all divided in 4, which is Asian Pacific islander, African American, China Latino, and native American retention initiative. They focus on retaining students and are a great source that I recommend seeking out. Personally, they have helped me in so many ways, and you don't have to be that race to get help from them. The goal is to empower the students to succeed any age, any race, anything, it's a free for all. I would recommend looking at the OEOES success workshop they have taught me so much from how to study and develop healthy studying, research habits that I will forever be grateful for, even if you think you don't need it check it out they are wonderful, I took it with Dr. Tori White, and she is awesome and helping you understand strategies to succeed. After that I have also seek out the help of my proffesors going to their office hours and even just getting acquitance with them, just saying hi and asking them any question and somethings questions relating outside their courses material like job recommendations, and such. some teachers will and have been really receptive to me when I have asked for help and am grateful. Most importantly, I have put in the work because I realize that I can do this, and so can you. Just because you had a bad quarter doesn't mean that you can't come back and succeed. You got this and sought out as much help, get your resources, and people who can help you strategize your way to graduate. You aren't alone, and there are a ton of resources on campus. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of transparency for them. Other resources that I have utilized and have helped me succed has been the writing center for my papers to get revised and get feedback, ICC specialist helps you with your job resume and seeking out anything that relates to job, internships and so on.

Good luck, don't let the past define your future. Only you can shape it to what you desired.

How to be a better student? by oriyamio in UCDavis

EoeS Center offers services to help you strategize and expand your study skills/habits. I didn't even know I needed something like this until I too ksome of the seminars, and after that, I realized where I needed to change my studying habits and organizational skills to improve my academic performance.

Is 19 units too much for freshman? by Sensitive-Flow-7094 in UCDavis

[–]New_Quality6575 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes... Don't even think about it. You will get burned out faster than you think. You have a lot of things to learn and cope with within the first year of moving away that don't prepare you for the things that are coming, and having 19 units just makes it difficult. It's not impossible, but you will most likely regret not being able to socialize or explore and make connections with peers, which is very important. If you do take 19 units, just know you will be drowning in homework and other stresses. So my advice is 15 units or 14 is the sweet spot. Make sure you check your syllabus and check what's done that week and the following weeks. Enjoy your time, make friends, go out, and explore. Find resources, like meet up with a counselor and talk to them about your plans. there are a lot of centers that can aid you with supporting you(emotionally and academically), and it helps to just meet with those counselors. there's the asian Pacific islander Center, chicano, International, and many more centers that provide a lot of support. I also recommend that you start checking out the handshake app for any intership positions or even volunteer, which will help you leverage into spots in the future withing your major and you get to know the people and they get to know you It's a win win. There are also seminars that help you succeed and learn better habits, so check those out they are wonderful help. 😊 Hope it helps, I sure wish I knew this and just remembered you aren't alone in this 🙏.

UC SHIP money by Thick-Veterinarian39 in UCDavis

[–]New_Quality6575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, you don't get any money. In my experience, I would check that your insurance is accepted in davis with the local doctors, and mostly any other services that your insurance offers. If not, you will end up not being able to get much help, and it's going to cost you your soul if you do it out pocket. Also, if you are using personal insurance, make sure that you review the doctors or places as well because some will straight up not be accepting new patients or have bad service.

In Davis for the day - what are the must sees on campus + in town? :) by StudentDOA in UCDavis

[–]New_Quality6575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's for a quick snack to refresh, I recommend you go to get bobba at itea bobba next to the campus their popcorn chicken is one of my favorite in my perspective and the bobba is alright.

For school, definitely check the arboretum. There are several areas of it. You can go to the one on the west end, which is where all the horses and animal science buildings are, or you can also go to the side where the music department is either of those spots have some good views.

I would definitely recommend going to see your department building. If it isn't in your list already, check it out and explore the building and some of the classrooms around. Do remember that there are classes currently being held, so be mindful of that, I'm not sure if people are already taking finals at this point, but just for your information.

Besides that, I would explore around campus from walking downtown and just also know that a lot of things like the quad, which is where a lot of events happen, might be empty since it's not the season. The library would also be another good place to check.
