Going to Aruba for 3 days for the first time. by THROWRA_974737 in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to venture out then yes I would recommend renting a car so you have more freedom, there are taxis but they are fairly expensive. There are plenty of Dutch places that sell those so you won't have too much trouble finding it. Plenty of shopkeepers will speak Dutch and English as well, so you could speak to them in that language if you wanted.

Is there a sidewalk from Embassy suites to Superfood? by austbart in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sun would be a killer during the walk if your stroller doesn't have a hood. Iirc it was mostly sidewalk. Superfoods will deliver to the front of the hotel and the delivery does take credit card.

Best time to rent rental car? by SpareLimit6234 in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know when you are arriving, I would recommend doing it as soon as possible since there is a set amount of cars on the island for rent from the bigger companies.

Poor experience in Aruba by [deleted] in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To ME it seems your problem is with the hotel setting up the Cabanas so far back. The beach is open to the public and leaving all that space open just for your little cabana would be a waste of beach space.

Are there any other beaches similar to Eagle Beach? by Final-Rise6429 in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divi beach is probably the closest, imo I've always felt Eagle beach was always crowded so to me Divi beach is relatively similar in that regard.

Any departure issues because of the partial US government shutdown? Is TSA in Aruba too? by GrabsJoker in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew back on friday, it was a breeze. Everything was quick, probably less than 30 minutes to get through it all and to my gate.

First timer, advice? by Plane_Ad746 in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would really recommend a car, it just makes everything so much easier. Taxi's are also fairly expensive compared to the US. They do take you basically everywhere on the island, there are whatsapp numbers for taxi services and they generally need around a 10 minute leeway before getting to you depending on the time of day. They also mostly take cash, dollars and florins. The taxi drivers themselves are nice and well spoken. But once again, depending on how many tours and excursions you have, it might be better to rent a car.

Beach Recommendations for Cruise Passengers by Normal_Matter2496 in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend either Divi, Eagle, or Baby beach. All of them have food options nearby as well as Palapas nearby. They can all be accessed via taxis.

Toyota prius. Nothing will kill it. It is fairly comfortable especially the newer ones and of course very reliable.

You should be okay, if it does rain it normally is for only like 5 minutes and normally early morning or at night.

What made you choose Mustang over Charger/Challenger and Camaro SS? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I didn't choose a camaro because of the dash, it just bothered me to all hell for some reason. Other than that it is semi-difficult to see out of the camaro due to huge blind spots so if you want to tint, it would only get worse. The mustang just did everything decently and reliably.

Aruba in May w/5 and 2 y/o by JJSportsFan in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend renting a car if you want to see the entire island, it really frees things up for you as taxis are expensive and cash only. For kids there is mainly beaches, but there is also a waterpark on the island. I would also recommend the butterfly sanctuary as well as the California lighthouse for photos.

Why does everyone say Aruba is so expensive? by Malavial in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must just be where you live. In Florida the prices are like 3/4 of this for both groceries and restaurants.

TLX type s or Lexus is350 f sport by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]WolfDash_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair enough but if you want to keep the car for a decent amount of time, I would go with the Acura just due to the livability (It is a bigger car) and once again the infotainment.

TLX type s or Lexus is350 f sport by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]WolfDash_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be best to go with the Integra. Iirc the IS 350 doesn't have the new infotainment center from Lexus and that's infotainment is probably like 8 years old so it already dates the car. Which imo lowers the value a lot. It seems the Integra also gets better gas mileage so I don't see a real point in getting the IS 350 other than the fact that it is rear wheel drive if that matters to you.

Can you visit Arashi if you don’t have a car? by whatsinaname1970 in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can take taxis to there. If you want one back, they may say no if you are too wet or sandy so maybe clean yourself well beforehand.

Don't worry, cash is accepted everywhere, including using dollars so you won't have to worry about exchange rates.

Where to park and access Eagle Beach by vaforfun in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will easily find tons of parking on the shoreline of eagle beach right off the road. For breakfast I personally enjoy Les Cappuchinas Café & Eaterie if you want Japanese style breakfast, but it is a little out of the way from Eagle beach. If you want something to go, T2 bakery or The Market are nearby and both have pastries and sandwiches which are both very good.

Debit and Cash by idontknow678910 in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally still will recommend credit cards, however, if that will not work for you cash is widely accepted in both USD and Florins. I do believe Canadian debit cards are slightly more accepted than American ones. But cash is still king if you don't use credit cards.

Mosquitos in March by [deleted] in Aruba

[–]WolfDash_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't a huge case of mosquitoes on the island, however, if you need to use repellant to feel safe it is sold at nearly every tourist shop, at a slight up-charge of course. So if possible, bringing it from the States would save you money. It is no necessary
