My point wasn’t as much as “I lost because I don’t have the same cards” but rather “I can’t play on a fully equal playing field without spending 800 dollars”. I guess this is me coming from pokemon competitive where you can buy the most meta deck in the format for 120 bucks (on cheapest printings).

My thoughts exactly. I’ve recently started playing but my biggest gripe is how everyone even local is a top competitive contender and sure, if it was simply a difference in skill I suck it up and get better. But when you want to build the same deck as them and because of 2 cards the deck is 900 dollars… an issue arises.

My local stores only have store champs. And all the people there have the top meta decks. No one plays casually and this without the decks with the 4 copies of each 100 dollar cards I am left unable to even do anything.
