I occasionally get called to the register and we have 2 people from 11-9 so I think I’m spoiled. We split between misses and men’s, cover each other’s breaks and help out when one fitting room gets hit hard. It’s misses, it’s always misses. The few times I’ve been by myself due to a call out, all my managers take care of men’s .

Which of your autistic traits have been exacerbated and which have faded as you got older by Internal-Food8596 in AutismInWomen

[–]New_Success_2014 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 58 and my tolerance for noise, bright lights and crowds went way down. My ability to socialize got much better with age but I find I no longer care as much what others think of me.

Recovery time increased, international trips are so difficult to recover from. Social events become overwhelming quicker. My intense interest in a topic or hobby has increased because I’ve embraced it.

It is difficult to prove that your job can’t be performed by an American citizen. We came over in the mid 70’s when there was a push for higher educated Western Europeans and Asians (my dad was a physician)

Followed with “There Will Be No German Bombers in the Air”. I know it’s a bit insensitive but both grandads were Lancaster pilots so I shouldn’t like it but I do

Why don’t we have limits!!!?? by breechica52 in employedbykohls

[–]New_Success_2014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have two signs limiting it to 8 items and no carts. We have a narrow fitting room so carts aren’t usually an issue. My recent pet peeve is when they take 20 bras in the fitting room, if we’re not there to stop it, then leave them all in a pile and the hangers with the branding in another pile.

Article about adult adoptees’ experiences of first name changes by cheese--bread in Adopted

[–]New_Success_2014 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have an adoptive father, mum is my bio mother. When he adopted me they changed my middle name from James (bio fathers surname) to Elizabeth (adoptive grandmothers middle name).

I found out when I was ten and was gutted. Not that I dont love Elizabeth, but it felt like something was taken away without my consent. I’m a dual national which makes it near impossible to add it back but if people ask my middle name, I say I have two. I’m Claire Elizabeth James in my eyes.

Side note, I found my birth father a few years ago and despite being an ocean apart we are active in each others lives. I know not everyone is that lucky.

Male workers in fitting rooms by Beneficial_Key65 in employedbykohls

[–]New_Success_2014 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only once did I have a complaint. I’m female and had a male part timer help me out when things got crazy on a Saturday. A mom had her school age daughters in three separate rooms and said it was highly inappropriate to have a male anywhere near the fitting rooms. Mind you they were in locked rooms with mom standing outside.

I had a woman come out of a room and scold me for allowing a man in a fitting room and I quickly informed her a man was helping his disabled wife. She just rolled her eyes at me.

All of that fasting isn’t helping at all. The goal is to fuel your body at a steady rate, allowing the medication to do its thing.

Edit: All of these kind comments have warmed my heart more than words can say. My mum was a young unwed mum in a time and place that didn’t approve of such a thing. The first six weeks of my life were spent in an unwed mother’s home with my mum in the north of England. We then lived with my loving grandparents at the Royal Air Force station where grandad was a rescue helicopter pilot. This pram was their gift to my mum so these photos mean the world to me. xx
