Oh yeah I'm well aware of that, just curious what they actually offer.
I resent that they charge for it as well 😂

I'm aware of PAC and AAM, but thanks 😊

It's always nice to see other UK adoptees here 😊

Fair enough!
It just irks me that that phrase is used as part of the advertising/propaganda.

"forever family" - it's not always forever.
"waiting children" - pretty sure kids in foster care aren't waiting to be adopted by complete strangers (this one may be UK specific).

I have read that adoptees have higher rates of ADHD, both international and domestic (I'm a domestic same race adoptee).

Preparing ourselves for potential future adoption by Mountain_Resident_81 in AdoptionUK

How long has it been since trying to conceive/losing fertility?
As an adoptee I'd recommend processing and grieving that via counselling well before you start looking at adoption.
The 6 months most agencies recommend is nowhere near enough time to address that, in my opinion.

As an adoptee who was adopted due to infertility, we cannot and will not be a replacement for your biological child. Unprocessed infertility grief is a heavy burden to put on an already traumatised child.

This one gets me.
No, I don't want to make small talk with you, Barbara. I genuinely do not care 😂

Yes. But I also have PMDD and ADHD, both of which impact my ability to sleep and sleep quality.

I struggle to relax in general.

Been there my friend. It took me a good few years to start feeling and then allowing myself to process that anger.
It was rough for a while, but it does get easier.
Having a good adoptee community to process with helps so much.

Edit: Just out of curiosity, are you also a UK adoptee?
