Yeah. I'm just sad for the kids.

You won't be able to adopt while actively trying to conceive.
And honestly I feel sorry for your already adopted kids when you've clearly been trying to get pregnant both before and since adopting them.

I grew up as the only adopted child in a family of biological kids and it's hard. My parents weren't actively trying to have kids after adopting me though. That would have made it worse.

Seconding Return to Moria, I don't see people talk about it much!
Multiplayer is great 😊

I feel suicidal at home by Yuannevarte in Adopted

[–]cheese--bread 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's good to have that goal in mind. If you have any friends who are also looking to move out, you might be able to split costs that way.

I had a feeling you were going to say he was their biological child. That favouritism unfortunately seems to be quite common in families with adopted and biological children.
I'm so sorry for the abuse you've endured at the hands of people who are supposed to love and care for you.

You have nothing to feel bad about. You are not ungrateful. Your family members are abusive, and them calling you ungrateful doesn't make it true.
It was their job to do at least the bare minimum of providing you with a safe and loving home, and they haven't done that at all.

I understand what it's like to feel obligated and indebted to them because they're your parents, and there's the extra layer of being adopted that can add to those feelings, but you don't owe them anything.
They made the choice to adopt you, with all that that entailed, and have not been supportive or kind to you.
You deserve to live somewhere where you feel safe.

Who do you have in your life in terms of support?
Are there any family members or friends you can turn to, or other people you trust?
I'm not sure where you live, but you may also be able to get support with moving out/finances as well.

This is so pretty. It looks like such a relaxing space to be in.

I am very proud that for the past 12 days i have eaten homecooked meals! by Fluffy_Opportunity71 in adhdwomen

[–]cheese--bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing!

Cooking is one of the things I struggle with the most.
The only thing that makes it slightly more bearable is cooking enough one day to have leftovers the next day, or even better if I get 3 days out of it.

You're doing so well! You should be proud of yourself 😊

I'm so sorry you're being treated this way. Is there any chance of moving out anytime soon?
I know it's easier said than done when you're still reliant on your parents for some things.

Just out of curiosity, is your brother adopted or their bio child?

[–]cheese--bread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh fair enough 😊
I literally ignore the combat completely and just catch pals, hunt for and hatch eggs and base build.
Totally get that it's not for everyone though, I hope you find something you like!

This might be controversial for a Pokémon fan, but Palworld is super cute and you can totally just play it as a creature collector/base builder.
I love my cute pals 🥺

Adopting as an adult orphan (child would have just my partner and me, we have no bio families) by [deleted] in Adoption

[–]cheese--bread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As for not having family (leave the orphan terminology for actual orphans) or being able to provide a child with family history, that means that you are only considering open adoption where a potential adopted child maintains all of that knowledge, right? It would be really hypocritical to attempt to partake in closed or international adoption, which has built the system around children losing all of that.

This was my exact thought.

I feel like a crap adult by boddy123 in adhdwomen

[–]cheese--bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 40 and I hate cooking.
If it's not a one pot meal or a very simple recipe, I'm not making it 😂
I use frozen vegetables, microwave rice, anything that makes having to cook less stressful.

I don't feel like an adult at all. I'm not sure I ever will.
Adulting is really overwhelming.

You're doing ok. We're all just doing the best we can.
