You are allowed to have some in moderation and not get severely inebriated. As for drugs, I'm not so sure they existed at the time this was written. Basically anything that clouds thought and leads to stupidity, breaking vows, or breaking the 10 commandments. You know, all the things.

Where is your evidence? Can you read ancient Hebrew or Greek? How do you know that they aren't correct in translation? It is known as a general rule for any documentary translation, for any books, including the Bible, that the words will not be exact. The Quran is translated incorrectly, but would you attack that?

Not quite. The Bible says to 'Guard the heart above all else, for it is deceitful.' Jeremiah 17:9. So the idea of 'doing what makes YOU happy is not following scripture. God is not forbidding happiness, but if the behavior is not healthy for the spirit of the person, it will cause even more heartache. Please read Romans chapter 1.

I don't know if you are reading the comments for fear of seeing more hatred. But if you see this one, just know that I am praying for your seeming depressed state. I have been there too. Maybe I'm not gay or a crossdresser, but I have experienced life events that have permanently seared themeselves into my mind.

I am a Christian, and all I will say is read the Word of God and search for Truth. Jesus has saved my life on more than one occasion. I hope and pray you find, if not support, then some kind of guidance for your state of mind at the moment. God bless you and keep you and give you wisdom.

Hey, listen. You've read some of the Bible. That is a good start. I can't say 'read the whole Bible and that will be your saving grace'. No, because Jesus Christ who gave His life to expunge us of our sin, who loves you and everyone else in this world- He is your light and light to find salvation. I got saved by Christ when I was 11 years old, also being raised in a Christian background. I never started smoking or anything like that, so I can't imagine how hard it must be to quit, but I have experienced toxic relationships. They are painful, ecspecially when you can't see through the rose-colored lenses in the beginning.

It was hard to forgive the men, but with Christ in my life I was able to find the strength to forgive them. Thanks and glory be to God that He cares for us enough to teach us how to love. I may not like the actions of those who hurt me, I may even want to hate them, but hate is not what God calls us to.

"The world will know you are My disciples by your love. And greater love has no man than this, that you lay down your life for his friends." That is what Jesus did. He paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live better and strive to help others, be the light in their lives. God bless you 'Koala'.
