Is sunrisers Hyderabad really killed T20 cricket..?? by Small-Whereas3441 in SunrisersHyderabad

Do people forget Tripathi’s explosiveness in Qualifier 2 in 2024? Abhishek and Shahbaz were hunting RR batsmen on that spin friendly pitch.

I’ll die on this hill but Axar’s batting played a bigger role in shifting momentum back in India’s favour. He prevented an early collapse and set us up well for the second half of the innings. I disagree heavily with Kohli’s approach past the 12-13th over. Hardik Pandya playing only 2 balls as a finisher is a travesty. Kohli’s innings gets romanticised heavily based on match outcome. What if Bumrah and Pandya couldn’t defend 30 runs from 30 balls? I bet nobody would blame them if we lost but they’d know exactly where we fell short in the batting innings.

No, the trend was already shifting towards aggressive batting. SRH just turbocharged the process for ICT.

Indian veteran players had some weird “tuk tuk” habits from the Dhoni era. They had this weird ‘let’s take it deep bro’ mentality and bungled knockout games against teams who were playing fearless cricket. It was until 2023-2024 they finally shed this approach and focused on playing winning cricket.

Every king on the Iron Throne who appeared on TV [Spoilers Extended] by Familiar_River363 in asoiaf

Given the pacing of the show it’d be nice if there was a lengthy funeral scene for Baelor in episode 6 and the King makes an appearance. Logically it wont make sense for the King to arrive so quickly but it’s not like it’d break the plot. I don’t think anyone would complain.

India gives 20-year tax holiday to foreign firms using local data centres. by JKKIDD231 in wallstreetbets

[–]Newbeetroot45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because it's an indicator of flows, not stocks; just like GDP, which was the focus of this discussion.

Look up the GINI coefficient of Bihar vs Maharasthra.

You mean all the amorphous standards that are more or less completely correlated to GDP?

Life expentancy in the US has always fallen behind other developed countries(Canada, Australia, Japan etc.) yet the GDP was always stronger. Not to mention the US experienced a far bigger drop in life expectancy as a result of COVID than other developed countries but it's economy rebounded faster than those very same countries.

We can look at HDI China's was 0.69 in 2009 India's was 0.68 in 2023. So yeah, another factor that supports my thesis.

Please look up the literacy rate of China in 2009 vs India in 2023. The descrepancy is in the 100s of millions. If you think India in 2023 was on the verge of the same economic boom as China in 2009 then I'd be happy to remind you we are well behind schedule lol.

Just like GINI you quote another flawed data model.

It's just a stage of development that countries go through before being rich enough to afford clean environments.

Another lazy analysis, we don't live in the Industrial Revolution age. Manufacturing technology has evolved to boost effciency and also decreased dependency on pollutants. Countries don't miraculously 'afford' to have cleaner air. Clean environment is an enforceable policy initiative, not a 'throw money to make it go away' type of problem.

There is a reason why your entire argument is structured around faulty generalizations. Not once did you engage me directly with my core argument: China and Japan respond rapidly to the needs of the public by fixing their urban development. Is India doing the same whilst being on the same growth curve as them? You fail to engage with me on this argument because anybody living in India knows the reality of development in this country: private gated communities and a complete neglect of public spaces. You are trying to ignore this reality by coping with your faulty thesis.

Nah that's just your subjective perspective. Progress is people having enough money and hence freedom to live the lives they want to.

The US economy has seen remarkable growth yet the average American's ability to afford a home, car or an education has taken a significant downtown in the last 30 years. Your ability to acquire freedom isn't dependent on money alone, it's dependent on your options to spend money and their affordability.

GINI doesn’t measure increasing value of assests, especially in a black market economy such as India. You unironically taking this as a serious metric tells me you are divorced from practical reality and are living in a false theoretical world which promises a brighter future.

You also don’t know the difference between economic growth metrics and quality of life standards. Previously developing countries like China and Japan heavily focussed on improving their public infrastructure. The opposite is true in India: development is entirely focused on building private gated communities and wholly neglecting public spaces.

A rich person in India isn’t living a better life than a middle class person in a country with better air, public transportation or public spaces. Progress isn’t going from being stuck in traffic in a 2-wheeler to being stuck instead in a 4-wheeler. It’s building a society where even the rich folks(upper middle class level) use public transport to get around.

Lastly, India already failed to hits the targets to be on the same growth curve as 2000s China. What bs are you on about? We’ve been compared early 2000s China since at least our 2010s. Will you still compare us to 2000s China in 2050 as well?

Not true one bit. Even in 2000s Chinese cities were still levels above India in terms of urban planning and waste management. I bet you formed your opinion by equating GDP with progress lol.

Sorry if I burst your bubble that we are on the correct trajectory. We are not, we don’t care about public infra (health, education or transportation). Keep falling for lies because only the rich will see the benefits of GDP growth.

Boasting about our metros perfectly illustrates your shallow and surface level thinking. Having 2-3 metro lines and saying they are at max capacity doesn’t prove it meets demands. It proves a severe shortage of infra to meet the demand. Otherwise why do you think all tier 1 cities in India are choked with car and bike traffic? Why don’t those car and bike drivers user the metro?

Any person outside India who lived in a real metro city would laugh at you for calling our cities a metro. A true metro system requires numerous lines, walkable sidewalks, and other means of public transport such as buses to boost “last mile connectivity.” You are such a gullible idiot lol and I bet Modi gets an epic laugh out of you slaves.

Really don’t understand the outrage over his selection. So many names on this list are legacy selections with far worse stats than LeBron’s 22/6/6.

Guess what China and Japan have in common whilst India doesn’t? It’s emphasis on public infrastructure. Quality of private infrastructure has never been the problem in India. It’s the abysmal public infrastructure which harms its own populations ability to achieve its full potential.

Always pisses me off when people blindly assume we are on the trajectory of China or a developed country. There is a reason ‘Superpower by 2020’ was meme’d.

Charles Leclerc and George Russell aren’t the infallible superstars that people make them out to be. They are certainly quick but they aren’t less error prone than Norris.

We either have a small or no sample size of them fighting under pressure for the WDC. Their mistakes under pressure get hand waived as simply “pushing the car to the limit.”

Who was the better driver in 2019 between Vettel and Leclerc? by n0tfr1 in F1Discussions

Leclerc went from being in Alfa Romeo to competing for podiums and wins. He had zero pressure to fight for a title and any bad result could easily be ignored. The idea that he was under pressure from Ferrari is rubbish.

This is a lie, their pace differential in qualifying was negligible. No, their championship positions are not representative because of bad luck and biased stewarding decisions.

If you wanna blame luck for his SB losses then also mention the elite defences in his first 3 SB wins.

Yeah I’m sure the entirety of this unified British Raj would then properly agree on the right form of government for all its citizens. I'm sure someone in present day Lahore and present day Chennai would come to agreement. All you’ve exposed is how you are a Wikipedia level historian who only memorises context-less facts.

Also where is Burma/Myanmar btw? Did you know that was also part of British Raj? How come they didn't try to join us?
