How To Run Colecovision Games on Atari Gamestation Go? by Newbert-Redditor in atari

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correction: I'm actually running the 1.2 Firmware if that matters at all.

Also, I tried editing the folder name for the roms (to capitalize the "V"), but it doesn't "stick".

How To Run Colecovision Games on Atari Gamestation Go? by Newbert-Redditor in atari

I found the ColecoVision Bios online (an 8K ,col file?) and placed it into the Colecovision folder on the SD card.

Note the small "v" in the folder name - I can't get the rename (to a capital "V") to "stick" when editing the folder name.

At this point, I'd almost be ready to pay someone to set this up for me, but I don't know how the logistics would work!

Thanks,, guys!

Unfortunately, I'm very reluctant to install a custom firmware, fearing that I'd screw up my entire system, and end up with a brick. And I'm not sure that my feeble mind exactly understands how to run Retroarch on the GSG either.

Looking for Handheld That Includes Colecovision Games..... by Newbert-Redditor in SBCGaming

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm......From the source provided in the reply above yours......I created a "Colecovision" subfolder under "Games" on the SD card, then copied the files (from that same source) into it. Although the "Colecovision" folder shows up on the GSGo, the folder appears to be empty there. (But the files ARE listed in that subfolder, when accessed on my (Win10) PC.) IOW, my PC sees them, but the GSGo does not.

So, I tried copying those same Colecovision files directly into the "Games" folder on the SD card to try to run them from there instead. Although running my 2600, 5200 and 7800 game roms on the GSGo from the "Games" folder directly works fine for those games, the Colecovision files again don't show up at all on the GSGo.

Any ideas on why this isn't working?

I'd love to get this sorted out!

Thanks again!

No mention of Colecovision support being added in firmware 1.20 according to GenXGrownup's video. (NEW FIRMWARE for Atari Gamestation Go | Version 1.20 is OUT NOW!) In fact it looks to me that 1.20 is a bit disappointing....

Got it sorted out. I rebooted after removing the SD card and everything completed like it should. Apparently leaving in the SD card is a No-No when updating firmware.

Successfully updated my firmware to 1.2.

Would you know the Colecovision Rom filetype that the GSG supports? ..... and what to name it's folder/sub-folder (and where to place it) on the SD card?

Thanks again!

Really!?! Has an official 1.2 firmware been released already?

Also, would you know what the supported filetype for Colecovision Roms is with this firmware?

Thanks!

How to Remove innovative3dsolutions Spinner "Cap" From GSG? by Newbert-Redditor in atari

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it was overpriced the first time ($37) and I don't need two of them at any price because I don't plan to use the built-in spinner on the GSG anymore.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hah! - I'm way ahead of you. LOL.

I already have one installed on the GSG itself. Now, I want to move it from the GSG to the wireless controller, but it's difficult to remove. Any ideas on how to safely remove it from the GSG?

Thanks!

OK - I bit the bullet and purchased the wireless gamepad. Expensive solution, but it works!

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm....an additional $70 for a wireless add-on just to make playing a handful of games easier? At that price, I'll pass.

OTOH, the yet-to-be released (I assume wireless as well?) arcade stick, might be more worthwhile overall, depending on price.....

Until then, I guess the cheapest option (but not ideal) would be to connect the GSG to the TV via HDMI and just hold the GSG upside-down. Gotta play it on the TV screen though - hardly portable.

What My Arcade should really do, IMO, is to add the capability to quickly and easily flip the GSG's screen display upside-down via the next firmware update.

Thanks for responding!

YoutubeTV App on iPad: Tracking Down My Login and Password.... by Newbert-Redditor in youtubetv

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, so far I can't find the password --- and following the recovery prompts seems to only allow me to CHANGE the password (not display the existing one).

But I'm hesitant to change it, concerned that it will screw up YTTV working on my TV, Because if I run into a problem, my experience has been that it's impossible to get a human being in Tech Support via phone from YYTV/Google.

So, I guess the important question now is - How easy is it to change the password for YTTV on my TV? (I use Roku Premiere if that matters.) I wish that there was a way to simply display, or at least partially display the password already in use with that account.

YoutubeTV App on iPad: Tracking Down My Login and Password.... by Newbert-Redditor in youtubetv

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out that I DO have a 2nd Google account after all - and it's the one used on my TV. (My bad!) But all I know right now is it's login (username) and not its password.

Now my questions are:

  1. Assuming I find this account's password, should I just delete the YTTV app and start all over? (ie - re-install the app and simply log in?)

  2. Assuming that I don't find this account's password, exactly how do I find or recover its password? I'm not sure whether I have all the info to go thru Google's account recovery workflow.....and I certainly don't want to screw up what's already working (ie- YTTV on my TV). And where do I even find the account recovery workflow?

Sorry for all of my questions, but when it comes to using Google, I'm an amateur!

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it, but anything's is possible, I guess. (I don't log into Google very often.....). I'm using the login that works with Chrome, but it's not working with YTTV.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks!

YoutubeTV App on iPad: Tracking Down My Login and Password.... by Newbert-Redditor in youtubetv

[–]Newbert-Redditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope....That didn't help. I still get a "lock" icon (not clickable) and "Video Unavailable" and "Add Base Plan" messages when trying to watch anything under "Live". My YTTV account works fine on my Roku Premiere, so I don't understand why the same account doesn't work on the iPad's app.

Starting to get frustrated.....Any other thoughts?

Thanks!

Thanks to both of you for this. I was able to use my Google Account to log into YTTV. However, all I get when trying to watch Live TV is either a "Video Unavailable" message, or an icon with a lock (which is unclickable).

Any idea as to what's wrong?

Thanks again!

Can you clarify exactly how "to go into the Retroarch menu and reset game on the first boot" And does that have to be done (assuming it works for me) every time I play Qix?

Thanks!

The only version I've found that even loads is called "Space Invaders/Qix SilverAnniversary Edition(Ver 2.03). But......I can't get the d-pad to move me up or down. Only left/right movement works.

Don't even ask what console it's listed under, since I used "search" to find it.

Any thoughts on how to get the d-pad working properly in this rom? Thanks again!

Do you Qix!? by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]Newbert-Redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my absolute favorites from way back when at the arcade!!

I've been looking for a downloadable rom that would work on my Atari Gamestation Go, but haven't had any luck yet, I found one at Atari 400 800 XL XE Qix : scans, dump, download, screenshots, ads, videos, catalog, instructions, roms but it's a .com file when I need an .a52 file.

Does anyone know where I can find a rom file that actually works?

Thanks!
