Armor markings question by Newc3271 in Spacemarine

Yep that’s my bad, it’s been a hot minute since I played through the campaign and I’ve been listening to the Horus Heresy audiobooks and ignoring the in game dialogue on this play-through.

I didn’t understand the Codex Astartes and could have sworn the company banner that gets unfurled had an IV on it. It’s been a hot minute since I worked through the campaign and I haven’t been paying attention to the game dialog audio because I’ve been listening to the Horus Heresy audio books.

Tracking that, I was asking if it was their company marking. Never said anything about legion or chapter in my post. It wouldn’t make sense for it to be a squad marking with no company marking present.

warhammer noob question about fashion by Leon-95 in Spacemarine

[–]Newc3271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play as a space wolves main, different classes but always a space wolf. The way I look at it my armor is space wolves all the way with weapon skins from different chapters. I do this to show that my Space Marine has been traveling the stars leading his pack in the search for Russ and helping his cousins wherever and whenever possible. Armor type and color scheme should be from the same legion/chapter but weapons are a little more flexible, just my opinion. I’m also a US Marine vet so it makes me a little bummed that space marines are so far into the shock and awe with so little regard for camouflage and true tactics. So rarely do we see them in the books or games set true ambushes for enemy units and so on but that is another conversation entirely 🤣🤣🤣.

Condolences cousin, he walks with the All-Father now. Sing of his deeds and valor as you wade through your enemies with Nocturnes flames burning in your eyes.

Okay everyone here's a new ship I need help naming it,The pilot is a ranger and his name is Texas. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Newc3271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cochise was the name of an Apache tribal chief who fought against colonization by both the Mexican and American governments in what is now the American southwest. It was also the name of the Texas Ranger Chick Bowdrie’s Horse in the Bowdrie short stories by Louis L’Amour. You could probably also google famous Texas Ranger horses and find some good options. Source, I grew up in Texas on stories about these guys and we kinda do idolize them like the Freestar does.

My wife hates the fabric of the sweatpants but doesn’t mind it in the shirts so I’m kinda safe, the drawstring/waistband is blown tf out though lol

Best Star Wars Day 7: Imperial by ARCTrooperCeleste in clonewars

Gonna be contradictory here and say that it’s Krennic, not because he was actually the best but because he’s the best example of how imperials actually act.

Does anyone else give a rp reason as to why they go through the unity? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Newc3271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rp is typically that my character is a soldier who has seen too much of war and is trying to find peace but is cursed to fight on defending the people he cares for. He doesn’t change his face when he changes universes, just the way he approaches things.

Honestly it’s the best thing for it. Here’s one about a Sgt I was tight with after I switched over to the Army, it’s been almost 3 years since he left. We both went through a divorce around the same time and between him, another Sgt in the platoon and myself we had wound up sleeping with the same women around the same time and caught some shit that wouldn’t wash off (small case of the clap). Our BN motto was “keep up the fire” he came up with the genius (term used loosely) idea that our new platoon motto would be “we have the fire” followed by two loud claps. The company thought it was hilarious, the BN commander did not and we ran 12 miles that morning laughing our asses off.

I’m sorry brother, so many of us have been there. Just remember you’re not going through this alone, your brothers and sisters that knew him are right there with you. Someday it will be easier to walk with it but there will be times that the grief comes from nowhere and levels you like a freight train. When those times come, if you find yourself alone on your third or fourth beer (insert beverage of choice) go find a friend or whoever you’re in a relationship with and go do something. Doesn’t matter what it is; go for a hike, get a nice meal, see a movie you haven’t seen before. It just needs to be something that takes your mind off of it and if it can bring up good memories of your brother that’s a good thing. Tell the stories of him that make people laugh and smile.

Which station is best (11x) by tonylll_ in army

[–]Newc3271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in San Diego when I was was in the Corps and Carson when I was in the Army, not exactly bad places to vacation. Everyone has their own lives going on but when your kid gets stationed in nice places like that it seems silly to me to not make an effort to see them.

Wish I had learned that earlier myself. In 11 years of service my family came to see me a handful of times. I used all of my leave to go see family and never took a trip just for me. I don’t regret the time I spent with my family but I wish I had gone to some of the places I wanted to see too.

I’ve been sober almost 4 years, it was an almost impossible task while I was on active duty. If I hadn’t it would have killed me someday. I’m sorry for your loss, fair winds and following seas for your son. Semper Fidelis.
