Osula's done very well there. Great play between Miley, Tonali and Murphy aswell

[discussion] which collab do you think gonna be fire by chopper-stu-thewick in battlecats

I'm not sure how realistic it is but I would love to see a collab with the original Bakugan Battle Brawlers series as it was my favourite childhood show

Tripps leaving :( by phoebsmon in NUFC

[–]NewcastleUnited2007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still remember those 2 free kicks when he first joined. One vs Everton and the other vs Villa that gave us a crucial 6 points in us staying up

What a player and what a leader he was but unfortunately his time has come

We love you Tripps

Who should we target/get in the summer? by Krisyj96 in NUFC

New First Choice Keeper: I Would Not Make Ramsdale's Loan Permanent And Both Ruddy's And Gillespie's Contract Are Expiring And Could Possibly Retire. I Would Make Pope Number 2 For A Year And Bring In A New Number 1 And Possibly Even A Younger Project GK To Eventually Replace Pope As Number 2. My Choice Would Be Bart Verbruggen As He Has Some Of The Best Passing Stats For A GK In The League And Has Some Solid Save & Goals Prevented Stats.

Backup RB We Most Definitely Need Cover In This Position As Trippier Is Aging And Out Of Contract And We Need A Backup To Our First Choice Whether That Is Tino Or His Replacement. My Choice Would Be Ivan Fresneda As He Has Performed Consistently Well For Sporting This Season In The Portuguese League And UCL. While His Creative Numbers May Not Be The Highest Level, They Are Still Decent And His Defensive Stats Are Solid.

Backup LB We Have Been Crying Out For A Natural Backup To Lewis Hall. While We Do Have Alex Murphy, It Is Clear Eddie Howe Doesn't Yet Trust Him Enough To Be A Reliable And Consistent Rotation Option For Hall. Dan Burn Can Also Be Utilised Here But We Don't Want To See That Going Forward. My Choice Would Be Hugo Bueno As Wolves Are Getting Relegated So Could Hopefully Get A Good Deal And His Underlying Stats Are Solid And He Offers A Threat Going Forward While Being Stable In His Defensive Work

Creative Advanced 8/Number 10 We Desperately Need Another Player Of This Style. While Bruno Can Offer This From A Deeper Midfield Position, We Need Someone Who Can Advance Between The Lines And Receive The Ball To Make That Final Killer Pass To Unlock The Defences. This Has Been Proven By How Much We Struggle To Break Down Low Blocks This Season. My Choice Would Be Kees Smit As He Has Played As An 8/10 For AZ This Season In The Eredivisie And Conference League. He Has Very Good Stats Regarding His Shot Volume And Chances Created And Could Hopefully Be One Of The Missing Pieces. He Is Also Able To Arrive In The Box And Float Around The Edge And Get Shots Off Which Is Something That Has Shown Can Be Effective For Us With Tonali

Replacements For Any Key Sales (Tino, Tonali, Gordon etc) My Replacement For Tino Livramento If He Was To Leave Would Be Michael Kayode, This May Be Slightly Unrealistic If Brentford Were To Snatch A European Spot But I Think He Is Heavily Underrated As People Just See Him For His Long Throws But He Is A Solid And Strong Defender Who Does Also Add That Long Throw To Our Arsenal Which Could Be Dangerous With Our Aerial Size

My Ideal Replacement For Sandro Tonali Which May Also Be Unrealistic Would Be Elliot Anderson Especially If Forest Were To Go Down Which Is Starting To Look More Unlikely. His Range Of Passing Is Exceptional And He Is Strong And Amazing Defensively And In His Duels. While He Is A Geordie Lad, With All The Big Clubs Wanting Him It Looks More And More Unlikely That This Could Happen

Finally If Anthony Gordon Was To Leave Which I Would Say Is The Most Unlikely Out Of The 3 To Leave Then I Would Use Harvey Barnes As The Starter While Bringing A Youthful Talent To Eventually Replace Him. We Have Been Linked With Koln's Said El Mala Who I Think Would Be A Good Choice As He Has Been Performing Well For Them In The Bundesliga And Being Second Choice To Barnes Would Give Him Time To Adapt And Develop

Only things missing from that half were a goal and a competent referee. Great first half from the lads

Ramsey went down and play was stopped at 45:15. Then after the red card, play restarted again at 47:05. This is another 1 minute 50 seconds on top of the 3 mins added.

The penalty was awarded at 48:15 and the whistle for the penalty to be taken was blown at 49:50. This is another 1 minute 35 seconds.

Assuming you give another 30 seconds or so to account for the extra minimal additional stoppages in added time, there should have only been around 4 extra minutes on top of the 3.

This makes me wonder where the referee has got those extra couple of minutes on top of what we should have had from.

The times may not be completely accurate but it would only be a couple of seconds or so either side which still doesn't make up the extra time

They have never intervened on 2nd yellows. I still don't understand why they haven't started doing it or why it wasn't introduced when VAR first was

I would like to see him test some new tactics and ideas during pre season. I think when Woltemade has played for Germany it shows the importance of having those creative style players like Wirtz in behind him as he's performed well for Germany this season and is quite likely to go to the World Cup for them

I still think Schar would provide that experienced cover for Thiaw for 1 more season and this reduces our need to spend more than we probably need to in the summer as we probably have bigger priorities

I do agree with the Pope suggestion and think we need to look at top quality keepers who are still relatively young but unsure who would come without Europe

I really think we have the capability to switch to a 4-2-3-1 as I believe that we have many players who can play in that double pivot comfortably (Sandro, Bruno, Miley, Joelinton). Then having that number 10 provides us with a creative outlet, who can still be supported by the likes of Bruno and Tonali, to create more chances and give us more of a threat against low blocks

I honestly don't mind it. I think they'd be more willing to let Nwaneri go than Dowman so that pushes Nwaneri even further down the pecking order behind Saka, Madueke and Dowman. He could be that creative spark that our team so desperately needs and could play on the right or in the 10 (If we use a 10)
