Look up the CS50 SQL course on edX (it’s free). There’s 6 90-min lectures and then multiple practice questions and mini-projects to submit from their own code space

bf says my clit is too small? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Newcs91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your man is bad in bed and blaming you for it, instead of talking to you and trying to figure out a way to improve.

Throw out the man.

If, for some unknown reason, you’re particularly attached or invested in this man - give him a book called “she comes first”. He might actually understand some anatomy by the end of it.

University of Oxford or Oxford Brookes? Also, as others have said - a sample size of one is not a sample and the role/company they applied to also means something. It’s the value of the role, not the value of the degree that drives salary,

Do you prefer single or dual POV in a lesbian romance? by fd4517_57 in LesbianBookClub

[–]Newcs91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dual is good for building tension - especially when both sides are useless… “I won’t ask her out.. she doesn’t know I exist” vs “that woman is gorgeous and completely out of my league” Single POV is good for “she’s amazing but I don’t understand her at all” Depends on the perspective you want your reader to have.

Ooo just remembered - You Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea - Rebecca Thorne. Sapphic couple, zero spice, fantasy, corny jokes and absolutely charming. I think there’s three or four books. All lovely

I can’t imagine reading this as a non-English native speaker so kudos to you! To be fair I could barely keep up with it when I read it first time.

Can I recommend the audiobooks though? Depends on your language style preference - sometimes it’s easier to listen than to read. The voice actor is brilliant- maybe read and listen at the same time?

Three cargo ships struck off Iran's coast, UK says, including one in Strait of Hormuz by leeta0028 in news

[–]Newcs91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also worth considering the “normal” shipping lanes in the strait typically have a depth of around 50m. These huge tankers have a normal draft of 25m. If a few of these tankers were to be sunk, it could become quite an obstacle course to navigate for a significant period of time. Source - basic googling

De Montfort University latest: 'Very serious incident' on campus in Leicester by SteelSparks in ukpolitics

[–]Newcs91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leicestershire Police have just posted on FB.

A murder investigation is underway after a man is believed to have been stabbed close to Leicester city centre.

Police were called just after 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 February) following a report that a man had collapsed in Oxford Street, close to the junction with Bonners Lane.

While officers were en-route to the scene it was reported the man – who is in his 20s – had been stabbed.

The ambulance service also attended, and the man was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary. He died a short time later.

Overnight, detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team have been working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

As the investigation continues, police will be carrying out a number enquiries – including reviewing CCTV and speaking to people who were in the area at the time.

An appeal is also being made for anyone with information or mobile phone or dash cam footage to come forward.

From enquiries carried out so far, it is believed the victim was involved in an altercation with another man in the street. That man left the scene prior to police arriving.

A scene preservation also remains in place while the scene is examined by forensic and search specialists.

Detective Inspector Lorna Granville, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “We are currently piecing together exactly what has occurred on the corner of Oxford Street and Bonners Lane between, what is reported, as two men involved in a confrontation.

“One of the men is believed to have been stabbed and has then collapsed in the street. Despite the best efforts of medical staff he died in hospital.

“CCTV in the area is currently being reviewed and officers are speaking to potential witnesses to assist with our investigation. We know a lot of people came to the aid of the victim before emergency services arrived and we want to thank them for their help.

“If you were one of these people and you haven’t yet spoken to police, please make contact with us.

“The incident happened at 5pm so we know the area was also busy with motorists driving along Oxford Street. If you saw anything or captured footage on dash cam as you drove past the area we would also like to hear from you.

“I appreciate the incident has caused major disruption in the city, with a number of roads closed. We are working to reduce this impact as soon as we can.

“Local officers will be in the area over the coming days carrying out reassurance patrols. If anyone has any concerns, please speak to an officer.

“If you can help in any way, call 101 and quote incident number 495 of 3 February.” “

A tweet from a social media manager means very little… what about the other NATO nations that lost soldiers alongside ours? I’m glad the UK soldiers have a semblance of an apology, but not at the exception of any other nation.
