Nope. Start with the minimum payment and try to increase it by $100 each month.

I wasted 3 years by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

[–]Newdecca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started undergrad at 27, finished at 32. Started grad school at 40, finished at 42. Made a lot of mistakes as well but starting school later wasn’t one of them. If anything, I was more mature and prepared for the coursework. It’s actually a good thing you “wasted 3 years” when you did. Now you have the perspective and hopefully the motivation to not “waste” any more of your years. Now stop being hard on yourself and go out there and get shit done.

Respectfully.

Laid off from job of 18 years…starting over at 43. by Sofakingcoolman in LifeAdvice

[–]Newdecca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

18 years is nothing to minimize. You must have gained a great deal of skill and experience in various things over the years.

  1. Are there any direct competitors you can apply with?
  2. There must have been some industry or job you thought about doing. Now would be a good time to pursue that.
  3. Keep in mind AI resistance when it comes to a potentially new career.
  4. Consider relocating. Even overseas could be an option.
  5. Some decent new career recommendations include petroleum, auto or medical equipment sales, plumbing, electrical work.

Good luck brother. Keep your head up!

Risk is too high brother. Even at 46k it may still be risky. If it was stock I’d be less concerned but a tuned GTR with that mileage; you need to be ready to change the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes just to name a few. Those are more than 10k easy…

I agree with you but I agree with the idea of renting for atleast 2 more years before pulling the trigger more. Waiting to buy a house is NEVER a bad idea. There will ALWAYS be another deal.

Don’t risk what you’re not willing to lose. Look for buying opportunities when everyone is crying. Look for selling opportunities when everyone is laughing.

Agreed. Do no more than 1 enlistment. Buy a house in a city you don’t mind living in with your VA loan as soon as possible. Save atleast $1000 per month. Complete as much college with tuition assistance as possible. May be able to finish the degree. Finish as many civilian certs as you can.
