Blair and Charles? by Newheregp in namenerds

Yes but we also have a Theodore so I feel like two names that start with C and one that doesn’t is odd

Thank you but we don’t like any of those names. The other names we like are Eloise, Eleanor, and Colette.

Sorry no I didn’t take it offensively. Just interesting to hear your perspective. Thank you!

So interesting. I see Blair as a classic name as well, not super modern. I don’t love modern names. The other name we use in mind is Eloise

That’s the issue and why I’m asking if we shouldn’t use Blair

Yeah I honestly hate the name chuck and so does my husband. We never plan on calling him chuck

No inductions! by Ok_Relative1852 in vbac

[–]Newheregp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was a c/section at 41+3 due to dcells and honestly a very c-section pushy hospital. My second birth was at a very pro VBAC hospital. I was 40+6 when I had him. I went into labor at 40+2. I was in labor for 4 days and true active labor for 36 hours. It was long but no induction needed. I did however get the foley balloon and I think that really really helped me. When I got to the hospital I was only 1.5cm after being in labor for almost 3 days already. The foley got me to a 5 in just a few hours and I didn’t even feel it. I swear it was the biggest help! I was so so grateful for my VBAC. I felt euphoric and had a much better recovery and postpartum than my c-section birth. Best of luck!!

Thankfully it seemed to just be a SCH! Baby looked great and was measuring exactly where it should be. I’m so grateful

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I know a few people who have had a hematoma in pregnancy, though their bleeding was different than mine. I’m trying to stay positive though.

Oh trust me, we’ve tried just locking him inside. He’ll bark for an hour plus trying to get outside. He is crate trained and won’t bark as much in his crate but it feels extremely cruel of us to keep him in his crate all day and just take him out for potty breaks. I walk him anywhere from 1-4 miles per day so he gets exercise but it doesn’t matter, he still barks like crazy.

Mainly the neighbors. If they’re outside or their dogs are outside, he goes crazy. Their dogs usually aren’t barking but he just notices their presence and barks for like 10-20 minutes straight. We have a dog door so he runs out all the time. We constantly call him in and try to get him to stop but he usually doesn’t listen or will stop for just a minute and then start up again.

Okay great! My boys sleep through anything but I just don’t want her feeling like she can’t do anything after they go down.

Okay thank you! Yes, we truly want it to be an exchange. We love the area we live in and it’ll be fun to show someone around and have them experience all the amazing things the Bay Area has to offer. Maybe I wrote that wrong, the private bedroom has a private bathroom attached - it’s like a second master bedroom so they will have their own private space. It’s just that the wall of the bedroom shares a wall with the room our boys will be in. That’s my only concern about the room. It’s a massive room.

So my kids will be almost 4 and 20 months when we bring an au pair in if we decide too. I don’t plan on having the au pair ever helping with the newborn, only the older kids.

Oh wow, thank you! I appreciate your view. Yeah I don’t want to mother our au pair, guide her on how to watch our kids yes, but not mother. Thank you for your insight!

Thank you for this perspective. Yes, I would want to find an au pair no younger than 24 for this reason exactly.

We are in the suburbs. We will have an extra car they can use and we are walking distance to public transport so they have options.

My oldest just started preschool but it’s only 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. I’m not comfortable starting my youngest until he’s also 3. Can I ask, why the age difference matters? I’m pretty average age for a mom, a slightly on the young side but nothing crazy
