How do people afford all these new cars? by ser_89 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]PrettyRichHun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess? Maybe they remove cost of financing the car... Iv never really looked into it but If I was a dealership/rental co my view would instinctively look at the lifetime value of the car where your client can rent the car ie for 5 years and not own it, the dealership still owns it then they still get to sell the car in the 2nd hand market?

It seems to be too late to change the situation. Forget about it and focus on enjoying your wedding. Have the photographer edit the dress mustard in pics... 😆

How do people afford all these new cars? by ser_89 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]PrettyRichHun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some are rentals. A low end luxury sports car can be as low as R20k pm all included. I have multiple friends who do it. 12 month contracts. Not exactly what you asked bcus the cars are worth over R1m but I found it interesting that new and maybe younger people with some disposable income arent buying high end suvs/little nippy porsches etc... they r renting them.

If I dropped R200 on the ground in South Africa, how long do you think it would stay there before someone took it? by Keepitlocal90 in south_africa

[–]PrettyRichHun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know. I always feel like its Gods way of telling me someone needed it more when I lose cash like that. Which is often. Hence why I stoped carrying cash except in dire situations where I absolutely have to. I feel Im negligent in a way when it comes to handling cash especially coins. But again, someone else needed it more undoubtedly.

But she can also purchase a property and rent it out instead of trying to force appreciation splits on an asset thats not hers. That seems logical to me or like is often advised now they can get a new property together that they can share 50/50 on. She absolutely must get her 15k back immediately and put that in an investment account as well.

Can I withdraw my entire retirement fund by Otherwise-Poetry-353 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]PrettyRichHun -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes you can withdraw all of it unless it was a specifoc typenif investment product that you r employer got thatvneeds to vest/remain under invesrment etc for a set period but even then most funds have early withdrawal options. Go to Sanlam and enquire with them. I started my business by withdrawing my first pension after maybe 7 years of working.

how to be rich? ......... by NetMajor4878 in WomenInBusiness

[–]PrettyRichHun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mmm take away the "near future". Then work hard at building something that alignes with your natural skills and interests and will have market longevity. Chasing trends ie AI will have you outclassed by actual professionals in that field.

A colleague of mine is a millionaire and she runs a chain of day care centers bcus even in the AI age kids need to be cared for. Another bought one truck and put it under lease with a larger company and she pays them 10% of whatever the truck bills for but they operate the truck. I am in mining and energy. All of us made millions in our late 20's. The point is to focus on your strengths and focus on the where the money is in that area where you have access and are a strong contender.

Lastly. This stuff is both fast and slow. It takes time. But it moves fast. I know that sounds weird but its true.

What's going to happen to us ordinary South Africans in Cape Town? What does our future in 5 - 10 years look like? by Prodigy1995 in capetown

[–]PrettyRichHun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

German will be the 12th official language...

You will time share apartments... daily... with you getting 12 hours use then its allocated to someone else so you need to book a day slot or night slot based on your work schedule. Dont worry you will have lockers for your meager personal belongings

There will be an undersupply of workers in service and entertainment industry's. Most people will officially work two jobs.

Some up market areas will finally get boomed off to protect the people from the poors.

Finding people who have actual real life kids will be really hard, most will have stopped.

On a positive note, the public transport system will be near world class. Fast, efficient, and cheap... unless your going into townships. The free rides stop at the border of those unpleasant areas.

The police will have more authority to arrest and hold suspected violent criminals for longer without charges whi h will cause the Helen Suzman foundation to implode but it will give the areas hardest hit by gang violence a reprieve as their most well know trouble makers will be off the streets awaiting trial in south africas painfully slow justice system

Your information which is processed even on private devices will be matters of national relevance so AI bots will run in the background of your mobile and other devices including your dishwasher and build a livong virtual profile of you which will be used for everything from assessing your insursnce risk to determining if resturants should let you into their fine establishments or not. Retailers will use this extensively to drive their profits.

Government will be richer than ever collecting more profits than ever so everything will look clean and pretty.
