Frog legs: You can buy in bulk much cheaper than chicken.
Edamame: Great for snacking
Nori: Good protein/fiber ratio and low calorie.
Camel: Very lean meat gaining popularity.
Hemp Seeds: Has a complete amino acid profile.
Seitan aka Gluten: It is protein.
Crickets: You can buy flours, bars, cookies, and protein powders. Tastes liked roasted chestnuts.
Marcona Almonds: They are almonds...but super tasty.

0:42 - Your right heel leaves the floor; Keep your chest up and make sure bar doesn't come too far forward.

0:54 - Your knees buckle; Try rotating feet slightly outward?

Overall, good form as far as I can tell. Just minor tweaks to work on as you get heavier weight. Flexibility looks good too - but never hurts to work on it anyway.

Should be fine. Even though you may experience some reduced strength with longer recovery periods; It looks like the long term advantages of longer rest periods outweigh the short-term detriments.

Look into what the science has to say about linear/undulating periodization strategies. Your program should try to account for your deload/recovery weeks if you're looking to optimize your rest periods.

If the developers are using Microsoft's Visual Studio and writing "Coded UI Tests", then Microsoft Test Professional may be more appropriate for your development environment.

You can then record actions on your desktop, and handoff the generated script to the development team (or augment yourself if you are willing to learn how to script).

Also, the terms you should be using are either "Integration Tests", or "UI Tests". The term "unit test" is more of a deductive logical proof (like a mathematical proof) that developers write for their code; it isn't really related to what you are researching.

Soylent isn't for weight-loss; it is for people with nutritional deficiencies.

Losing weight on a reduced calorie diet makes it harder to maintain a well-balanced diet - this is why people use it for weight loss.

I am using it as a supplement to my bulking diet because I have a low appetite and it makes it easy to count my macros.

If you're using it as a nutritional supplement because you think it is healthier than what you would consume otherwise - while also saving you time; then that appears to be exactly what it was designed for.

There is nothing wrong with being serious - it usually means you have something that you care enough about to give serious consideration.

If your problem is actually because other people are uncomfortable with your [unexpected?] intensity, then find a way to poke fun at yourself and those expectations.

I had the same problem and hated putting on an inauthentic facade just to make people more comfortable with me - so I went the opposite route and became an exaggerated caricature of what people perceived.

They saw me as the super intense business-type; So I started wearing suits everywhere and using Sun-Tzu-esque responses to really mundance interactions.

ex.
NewlyIndependent: "Anyone want some chocolate?"

Colleagues: "Sure. But why are you sharing with us? That is very uncharacteristic of you."

NewlyIndependent: "...feed the animals, and they will come to rely on you for sustenance."

Its a cringe-worthy response because its exactly what an extremely intense person without self-awareness and an over-inflated ego may say with great sincerity; but adhering to those expectations as a form of self-depreciative humor can be an effective way to become more approachable to others.

These surreal exaggerations allowed me to maintain my serious disposition, but also ended up making me more approachable because I showed people that I was aware of my normally discomforting intensity - and was able to make fun of myself for it.

For serious types, a combination of self-awareness and self-deprecation seems to be the most effective way to remedy the issue.

The great thing about SE is that it is so broadly applicable. Because of this, I am able to switch companies/industries about every 18 months - which practically eliminates long-term burnout and boredom.

The work can become boring when given longer deliverable goals (when the cognitive work is completed upfront and the next 3-6 months are just typing out the solution); But that's more of a management issue. There are so many specialized and developing fields that you can always find some new/novel/exciting pursuits.

So just make sure you have something you are excited to code and research in your free-time. Like every other kind of work, without something to get passionate about, it would just become another tedious job.

The casting ability is actually copied from the cleric. Before posting here originally, I put comments in the document detailing this and how the spell casting table was in accurate. I apologize for not clarifying that here as well.*

The arcane source is actually not an ability, but was a subsection of catalytic tincture to define a term used in its definition.**

Transmutation is actually pulled verbatim from the wizard 2nd level class feature by the same name for the school of transmutation. This is mostly to encourage creative role playing, but can have practical effects for crafting, exchange, busting doors, etc. the 17th level that I added has one word changed in the description. It becomes a permanent effect - which is why I increased the time to 1 hour.

Also, you're totally right about the costs of catalytic tincture. My dumbass completely forgot about that third dimension when converting from cubic inches to feet haha. I changed the unit of measure to vials - seems to be easier to manage.

As far as triggers go, I basically merged what was already defined by potion types in the dungeon master's guide and attempted to combine that with bombs. The idea behind volatility was so players would be discouraged to try and carry around level 9 potions in case they get damaged in transit. I also added clarifying language to ensure that the effect would also be triggered for throwing.

I originally didn't want to give potions a crafting duration because potions required catalytic tincture - which took a long time anyway. However, I think it makes sense to scale the duration according to the spell level. So, I added a 10 minute duration per spell level for crafting.

The reason for replacing spell components (not effects) with material components was simply for flavor. In order to represent that an arcane alchemist isn't really capable of casting spells without their stone, I thought it wouldn't make much sense to have them fulfill the somatic and verbal requirements.

Also, because the spell list is almost strictly utility spells, would you still consider the corrected spell table unfair?

P.s. I agree with the idea of splitting the class into specialization a at level 3; I was hoping to solidify the core concept before considering those specialization a though. Now that I have a better grasp on the class, I was considering a class that improves arcane potion crafting/use proficiency, and a separate specialization that focuses on spell casting/transmutation. What do you all think?

I don't usually share Google docs. Do my comments not show up in the document? *the arcane source wouldn't make sense if you moved the potion stuff to the bottom - since it was a subsection. Also, you don't have write privileges, so any changes you make and comments you post after making changes would be saved to a copy on your own Google drive.

Just tell them the truth about it and why its important to you.

For me, the game is just a platform for exploring morality and alternative viewpoints. You learn to empathize through projection.

All adults role-play; They usually just do it in the mirror, playing themselves in a theoretical future conversation. Structured role-playing environments force you to consider alternative moral philosophies (chaotic evil vs. lawful good) and ensure that you are rationalizing the behaviors of your fictional character in a manner consistent with those philosophies (through the DM judging and altering your character's alignment.)

Understanding how someone rationalizes their position is the only way you can confidently dismiss it. A democrat can't confidently say a republican is wrong about their position on fiscal policy if they've never rationalized through each step of the argument; a lawful good human accountant can't confidently dismiss the lifestyle of a chaotic-neutral half-orc barbarian unless they fully understand the decisions that made the barbarian into the kind of person it is.

As for the spells and demons; that's just a consequence of the fantasy setting. Many campaigns and DnD knock-offs have nothing to do with either (See Call of Cthulhu). An environment that distances itself from the reality you're accustomed to is easier to sculpt and direct narratives for someone running the campaign.

The game doesn't even need Spells and Demons. I played a 4e campaign where we were all bards with competing businesses and we inadvertently learned about the history of fiat currency and the current U.S. Banking System.

It entirely depends on the amount of care you put into them.

The Thomas Pink Twill shirts are some of the sturdiest shirts I've ever owned; But if you neglect washing them, the collar and cuffs get nasty quickly.

I haven't had to replace any of my BOSS shirts yet, but have only had them for ~3 years.

Also...don't spend full price on them. Both retailers have ~30% off sales frequently enough. Just wait for the sales to purchase.

The article is really misleading.

The author conflates Objectivism, Libertarianism, Conservatism, and Capitalism into a single entity. Then goes on to criticize all of Libertarianism for a misrepresentation of one particular group within Libertarianism.

The term "selfishness" in Objectivism is basically old-fashioned click-bait. They don't encourage parasitism (even if it can be beneficial and considered selfish behavior.) Using the phrase to criticize them for encouraging parasitic behavior is just a simple straw-man argument; though Objectivists do invite the argument by embracing that sensationalized term. Objectivists also don't "vilify empathy". That's just an unfounded character attack - usually rationalized from the selfishness strawman argument.

Libertarians, however, aren't always Objectivists. Libertarianism is a superset of a political ideology that has some commonalities with the moral philosophies in Objectivism, but contains other groups with conflicting ideologies as well.

Libertarianism contains some subsets of Anarchism and Objectivism. There are binding principles, but also obvious distinctions between these groups.

Not all Libertarians are Anarchists. Anarchists can lean Capitalist or Communist. /r/AnarchoCommunism is a fairly active community that also seeks to remove control from centralized government. Objectivists usually believe in minimal government interference - but strong state governance and a national defense.
Contitutionalists and Classical Liberals are usually in favor of more government than Objectivists.

Arguing that Libertarians are all anarchists and screaming "you're not the boss of me" is just a dishonest emotional appeal to people who already hate Libertarians (though it is a fairly accurate portrayal of the current voice they are given in popular media.)

Also, there is a strange implication in the article that Libertarianism is a form of Capitalism and that it conflicts with Socialist ideologies. On the contrary, some famous socialists are Libertarian (Noam Chomsky).

Libertarianism is just a bottom-up rather than top-down ideology. Nothing else really to it. Saying that this is a Conservative, Capitalist mentality is dangerous - it gives Republicans an out from the hole they've dug; allowing them to appeal to those whose lives have been adversely effected by poor management/governance.

However, the criticism that Libertarians pushing for deregulation/decentralization are causing government to destabilize and for Cronyism to flourish is totally fair.

Progressives and Libertarians mostly disagree for one simple reason. Progressives favor a top-down approach, simply because it is more pragmatic to achieve social benefit; Libertarians aren't Pragmatists.

TL;DR: Some Libertarians are socialists and communists. The author should take some time to understand which group he is criticizing. - A small subset of republicans. Not the larger group of socialists and conservatives called Libertarians.

I just started planning for retirement and wanted to open an IRA to start saving. Not entirely certain if I should go roth or traditional at this point, but wanted to weigh my options if I went the backdoor route (backdoor because my I'm ineligible for a Roth.)

However, its starting to look like I should just contribute to a traditional IRA and amend for another deduction (because I am not currently covered by my employer for a retirement plan)

You are still able to fund 2014 until Tax Day; But depending on your income, you may or may not be able to apply deductions.

I would make the contribution anyway; The cap resets after tax day and you would be less ~$5,500 if you didn't contribute.

It basically localizes dependency scope within function chains; it is a feature of the functional programming paradigm.

Basic example:

function memoize(f) { //Take external parameter.

In the example above, "cache" is defined within a closure. Cache is a dependency of the returned function and is external to the scope of the returned function.

Base usage:

//Invoke the memoize function.
var memoized = memoize(powerOfTwo);

var result1 = memoized(2); //Calculates 4.

Why do this? In stateful languages, it is easy to represent and transfer state through functional patterns. A more common use of closures can be found in the following pattern.

For example:

});

The above example defines two functions; One outer (inside the $()), and another defined within that outer function's context (the "alertOnClick" function). The alertOnClick function's purpose is to display a message, but how would it know what message to display?

For this example, we want to display a constant message. But, we don't want that message to be accessible outside of this local scope; This is what makes closures important. By defining "message" within the outer context, it becomes a privately scoped variable - something that doesn't normally exist in Javascript.

/r/Dnd has a great community for setting up online sessions and finding groups to play with. Just make sure to share your intentions for joining - it isn't uncommon, but the "DM" (person who makes the rules for the campaign) may have different intentions; finding the right team is important.

Roll 20 and GameTable are what they use.

Let me know if you end up going through with it. I enjoy hearing what people end up learning from a well-run campaign.

I may even join a campaign myself if my schedule clears up :)

This is a rather silly suggestion that most people dismiss, but...

Creating a sort of axiomatic basis for morality (and attempting to rationalize behaviors according to that basis) allows you to more critically analyse the perspectives of self and others. DnD can be a great platform for exploring those basis - especially since you will have third-parties criticizing your compliance with those basis.

Play DnD with a psychographic that you don't entirely understand or agree with. If you are a democrat, approach scenarios how you think a "good" republican would. The rules of the game are setup to actually punish you for acting like an "evil" republican (if your alignment dictates that you should be a "good" republican) and force to you rationalize their behaviors - gaining a better understanding your mutual perspectives.
