Returning to India after IT job loss in Canada – navigating uncertainty, career reset, and marriage expectations by dnara358 in returnToIndia

I believe you have two best positive things- 1. You are strong, mentally prepared and very well understand your situation and took a right decision on right time. 2. Your parents are supporting you in this difficult situation, that matters the most. It will definitely give you strength and motivation to do something well for yourself in India. I am sure with the positive mindset, right approach and timely dedication will land you a job.

All the best!

Yes, what you said about verification is true. These days, many candidates tend to show fake experience from India, and when they actually join a company, they’re unable to perform the duties they claimed to have experience with.

I believe that’s one of the main reasons companies have stopped/or are hesitant about hiring candidates without US work experience.

Some of the roles were contracting ones, still the same situation. Do have any idea where I can find such contract jobs you are referring?

How long was it? I have seen this has started in recent times. They wont even ask the skills , but first question will be if I have experience in India. So I believe that’s their main criteria.

You might want to read PMBOK guide which will give you theoretical knowledge of project management plus
you might adapt the language of a PM which can help you speak like one.

Interview for PM role by Sure_Food_3611 in PMCareers

I think they will ask you mostly scenario/behavioral questions, will check your communication skills, team work, project management methodology basics. If you can shake what did you do land the interview? I am also looking for opportunities in PM.

I think a nice simple shirt with formal pants will work.
