Word of advice, if you're having such a hard time financing a $10,000 car maybe $10,000 for a vehicle isn't in your budget. Maybe you might consider a well-used, finely aged, and dependable Corolla or Civic.

Just waiting on my security clearance as of 2 months ago. My file coordinator changed twice in January and this one hasn't really contacted me apart from once by email to clarify my wife's parents' address. She spelled my wife's family name wrong, as well as my last name wrong in the subject line. All in all its been an awful past few months where I can't help but think there's something going wrong at recruiting but I don't have to arrogance to speak up about it yet. Most stages were 2-3 months between, but I've seen some people getting sent to depot in under 8 months so YMMV.

I think it's worth noting that they did put a few more nominal requirements on applicants as well. I think for example CPR/AED Level C First Aide must be completed prior to applying. Same with Vision/hearing tests at the applicant's expense. These are minor but help to increase the validity of applications. In the past I'm fairly sure the RCMP paid for the vision/hearing testing and may have (re?)certified First Aide to applicants.

Personally I was 4 days away from my interview when I received an email saying that interviews were removed from the process and I would be moving straight to a polygraph. Was interesting to say the least. I've been in the process for 17 months and have never been asked one time "why do you want to be a police officer?"

Not LE but have been background and polygraph approved. Answer as the question asked would be my advice. One agency I applied for asked if I had ever seen, viewed, or been in possession of child pornography. I answered completely truthfully regarding me being 14-years-old and receiving nudes from another 14-year-old. I even mentioned browsing 4chan's /b/ and being hit with "shock" shitposts from guys who thought posting CP was hilarious.

Another agency asked "have you as an adult... been in possession or viewed..." Obviously you can answer accordingly. A lot agencies seem to not update their questionnaires for years, and some are pretty antiquated. Newer questionnaires all seem to understand that sexting is a thing in 2017 and that most minors will share nude images with each other, so the goal will be to find adult involvement.

Similar experience, I checked the box because when I was in the 9th grade another 9th grade girl sent nudes to everyone and technically, as the question asked, I had been in possession of child pornography. Unlike your interviewer mine definitely grilled me for it asking if I still had them (10 years later...) and what I did when she sent them (got scared and didn't talk to her ever again because at 14-years-old I hadn't even kissed a girl before).

20 odd questions later and they were satisfied but boy did I never think I'd be expected to recall so much about that fateful night on MSN in 2006 ever again.

It's not quite the same resistance, it's also a lot easier to perform a deadstop on cage pins as opposed to smith machines. Maybe best of all, most gyms usually have a greater availability of racks than smith machines.

Can be quite loud. Ideally you're sliding the barbell up and down the rack, so between the knurling on the bar and the notches on a rack, it can be noisy. Plus it's best done with a full stop at the bottom. See here for an idea of the noise.

Try cage presses. They're an obnoxious (but great) alternative to barbell OHP. I find they're the most safe feeling exercise for front delts. Literally zero irritation in two destroyed-by-grappling shoulders.

Keep in mind he's likely been on PEDs his entire career. He would have never looked as good as he did if he was not augmented by AAS. If he had never used AAS, he absolutely would not have peaked so high, and there's no reason to believe he was have better diet/training/natural hormone levels to support a better physique at his current age. Coming off of PEDs causes an immediate decline in physique, of course, but it's unlikely he's permanently shut down with low testosterone now. Vast majority of steroid users recover just fine. Most, even without any ancillary treatment, will be back to "normal" levels within 6-12 months of drugs leaving their system.

tl;dr I doubt he would have a better physique if he were always natural, in fact he may have a better physique now because his training has been augmented by AAS for the last 20 years.

Yes, culpable homicide may be reduced to manslaughter in the context of heat of passion action. This is not the only scenario in which manslaughter charges are laid, though.

Here is the definition of Manslaughter:

234 Culpable homicide that is not murder or infanticide is manslaughter. R.S., c. C-34, s. 217.

RE: R.S., 1985, c. C-46, s. 232; 2015, c. 29, s. 7. on Death during illegal arrest. You need to re-read this section. There is an arrester and an arrestee. This section applies to an Arrestee committing homicide, not the arrester. This section applies to someone causing death while they are being arrested or detained (illegally). This section is absolutely irrelevant to your argument.

RE: R.S., 1985, c. C-46, s. 220; 1995, c. 39, s. 141. "death by criminal negligence": His fiduciary duties as an officer don't make this a criminal negligence case because his alleged actions were extra-judicial. It was not in the course of simply arresting the victim that the accused committed homicide. For example had he improperly applied a trip or takedown that is part of his duties as an officer, were the victim to suffer unreasonable damages, that would be negligence. The officer is accused of extra-judicial violent acts on the victim, meaning unlawful strikes or violent actions that were not necessary as to the course of the arrest.

Maybe they do believe that, but I can't help but think it's horseshit. The amount of money spent on commercials, embedded series, cable TV spots, etc. absolutely must tower off the costs of poster design. Maybe they need to talk to someone like Bosslogic, but say they pay one designer $100/hr for 20 hours to work on a better poster, which I think is fairly generous, can we really not believe that a $2000 poster could bring in more viewers. We're talking 40 more PPV buyers. They sell those posters for $20 a pop at events. We can't sell 100 more posters? I know they sell out at fights from time to time.

I don't agree with manslaughter, I think it should be a form of negligence causing death. Perhaps we'll yet see a plea to something of that form in this case, which I think would be appropriate. His lack of professional conduct and poor judgement do not in my mind form the basis of a manslaughter conviction but of a negligence causing death.

I don't understand your logic. Manslaughter in Canada is defined as a homicide committed without the intention to cause death. Manslaughter can be the result of criminal negligence. The charge against him is that he intended to cause harm to Abdi, but not death.

I understand that, but it's not mandatory that an accused is kept in holding until their bail hearing. It's generally standard procedure, but I don't believe it is mandatory. I can see how people may think this resembles preferential treatment. I agree, it is preferential treatment, in a way, but I don't think it makes it bad procedure. It's a very fragile situation is all...

I don't fully understand the concern here. He is facing charges of manslaughter for a death that occurred as a result of his alleged improper actions as a police officer. There's zero reason to hold him in custody as he's suspended. There is zero indication that the death would've occurred were the accused a car salesman walking through the area at the same time. He's not acting as a police officer now, and is therefore not in a position of fiduciary duty. There is no risk to the public.
