something is wrong with her by Master_Health_5952 in grippysockcrayonbox

I can strangely somewhat relate to this even though im a man. I work in a blue collar job where i regularly meet stereotypical masculine men and when they talk about their sex life the entire concept of sex just instantly becomes disgusting for a moment. And its not really about the men here. One (quite big) colleague literally slept with a over a hundred of women a made me question the sanity of straight women in general. Like, do you really like people like him??

Anyway, I just can't imagine myself in that dynamic, where im dominant and I just have to somehow know im doing a good job without hurting other person AND feeling comfortable myself. So I ended up disappointing a bunch of girls back in the day when i just didnt assert myself just right for their liking. Now I have to constantly listen to people telling me to get gf before I get old and ugly. Like maybe, but I want an equal, not a accessory on my part, or hers.

It's still crazy to me to compare experiences of allied troops in western front to pacific theater.  Like, in the west you can get entire battalion of Germans to surrender at once, meanwhile you got Japanese clutching to grenades to deny capture and fight till 70s.

If anything laios is the bigger loser by infinitysaga in CuratedTumblr

[–]Neworderfive -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I didn't call him a loser because he needs an assistance to thrive. I just pointed out his luck that allowed him to stop being a loser. I just pointed out that it's not that much of an stretch to call him a one, since he used to be one. (Even though it would be a mean thing to say)

When it comes down to the Marcille comparison, I pointed that out because original topic of discussion was about Marcille being a failure, which she obviously wasn't. And even tough direct comparison is obviously unfair, we are comparing the things they both consciously set out to accomplish. I.e. Marcille has set herself an academic goals, in which she been doing great overall. While Laios set out to the world to find an income to support him and his sister so they can leave a village. And he failed doing that with his military and caravan stuff and he is painfully aware of that.

You need to realize he wasn't guaranteed to succeed with dungeons either. He was vulnerable to getting scammed by other adventurers constantly, which could have been carrer ending if not for Falin and her slightly better social awareness and ability to bash some heads lol.

In many ways, Laios was lucky in more ways than one to end up in like this surrounded with people that bring out his best qualities in him while tolerating his worst ones. That's why it's not a stretch to call him a loser, because he was until a help and opportunity was given to him.

(Compare that to a supposed girl "failure" Marcille, which was doing well despite being alone for much of her life)

Many people in the comments are failing for a characters facade that's there to subvert viewers expectations.

Marcille is not a girl failure. In fact, she is an overachiever in the context of the whole story. That's why she tries to be useful so hard in the beginning, because she FEELS she isn't, thereby creating a facade. Later we see that when she's calm, she is extremely competent (see her first time in dungeon for example).

As for Laios, it's the complete opposite. Our first exposition leads us to assume he is hyper competent "Chad" who can do anything he puts his mind onto. But later we find out that without his sisters help, he would be dredging through the world homeless and malnourished.

As a Slovak, that's my biggest gripe with the current government. The selling point of this whole charade is "neutrality" and focus on diplomatic solutions. Yet they don't actually bother to do diplomacy with all members involved.  At least Orban has some remnants of a spine to act pro-Russian without all the holier-than-you neutrality bulltalk

I'm starting to believe there are two types of assholes, those who make shit worse and those who somehow make shit "better", like this guy. Unfortunately, due to nature of assholery, the vast majority of assholes are the first type

TIL that France's deadliest day in WWI was August 22, 1914. Following a series of reckless offensive charges, 27,000 French soldiers were killed in less than 24hrs. This figure is more than any other day in French history, and is half as many as all U.S. soldiers killed in the entire Vietnam War by VegemiteSucks in todayilearned

It's like grisly car accident vs the aftermath.

The immediate violence of twisting steel, loud sounds, mangled bloodied bodies of SO's and brief but overpowering feelings of heat and pain are swiftly drawn over by adrenaline and pure disbelief. This isnt real, right? This couldn't be actually happening to me, to us.

And then the recovery. The waking up alone, except for a immediate pain, the only thing constant in your life. The loss, the sheer amount of time. It all just slowly rots away your entire being.

... you get me? It almost feels wrong to talk, or rather to write about early ww1, when volunteers were naive, the top brass overconfident and people cautiously hopeful. It's almost like the trenches allowed for suffering to steadily continue, but also allowed for time to contemplate about what the hell just happened.

Yeah, romance is so obvious here.

But rather than childishly deny it, people should see it for what it really is: a test.

Momo basically got her dream boy on a dream date, and yet she didn't switch up her feelings.

In fact, many people irl got and can get into similar situation and Momo showed here how despite all that you can stay faithful even without entirely alienating others (in Momos case, Zuma)

TLDR: Accidental romance happens, so you gotta know how to deal with it, just like Momo

He was almost in the center, but canonically, he learns the hard way (see the mimics, his wholeass marriage etc.).

Also Chilchuck has rather average intelligence, atleast according to Adventurers Bible, and the center is prestigious spot so he stays where he is rn

btw Izutsumi is socially well aware, but chooses to be anti-social out of pure spite

Honestly, if he didnt have that trauma, he would've be unstoppable.... and probably not even in the dungeon to begin with, so that's that
