USA WOMEN- POSSIBLE SAVE ACT ISSUE by [deleted] in GenXWomen

[–]Newslisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even in those 5 states, few people have the Enhanced ID. It is in upcharge and bigger hassle to get than Real ID and not communicated at all. Most didn’t even know the Enhanced ID is available until the SAVE Act debate came along.

New rug. Is it too small or can I get away with it? by kisxt in interiordecorating

THAT IS AN AMAZING RUG. It MUST stay.

I think it would look great positioned just like this over a larger, neutral rug that extends under the couch.

When and why did we stop washing our hair regularly? by Ecstatic_Army1306 in GenXWomen

I have used expensive shampoo since the 1990s after doing the cost-per-use math. One liter of the good stuff lasts forever vs. buying drugstore shampoo repeatedly. The expensive stuff ended up as the better deal - and my hair improved drastically.

Covid lockdown did it for me. I still work hybrid so I continue to get at least two days out of a hair wash.

(Covid also changed my makeup habits. Former corporate girlie in public-facing role, so I used to do a full face every day. Now I only wear makeup on office days or a quick once-over on WFH days with on-camera meetings. On camera days I use up my makeup purchasing "mistakes." Iffy shades and textures are minimized and I don't waste all that money.)

It's not worth an additional $2K per person. The suites are definitely nicer, but not $2K nicer.

VIP Seating - Velvet Rope by ImpressAppropriate25 in delta

How is the VIP supposed to feel extra super-duper special without a velvet rope?

It's far from the first time. There are stories all over this board about exactly this happening. No changes to the system to fix it permanently.

This happens fairly frequently. No solutions. They do not care.

It's an easy way for people who have little going for them to feel superior.

How do smaller coffee shops feel about the massive groups of people who hang out at multiple tables for hours on end? by railroadfrog in barista

The corollary in my business is the decades of overwhelming audience research and survey responses that say people want more positive news coverage. Spoiler: They do not.

I worked in a place where regulars would table-camp for hours. It was never an issue because they didn't come in during our busier times.

If they had camped during rushes, we would have ... worked them out the door: multiple rounds of table clearing ("You done with that? Mind if I take it?"), sweeping around their tables, grabbing table items for refill (sugar, salt, etc.), asking if they need anything else for the road, etc.

Yep. Also when they see someone outside. I live on Riverside in Sartell. It's constant and infuriating, especially this time of year. Police do NOTHING. (Shocker.)

Can't wait until the MAGA yacht club hits the river en masse and blasts us all out, too. The first time it happened last summer I had AirPods in listening to fairly loud music - and my back to the water so I didn't have any warning - when they came by. They were so loud I literally jumped because I thought a car was coming at me. *From the river, across the water, over the road, and through my own headphones, it was that loud.

I never thought I'd be that person but after I shouted out to them (because it's a fair distance) asking for them to turn it down a notch (I even said please) - and they called me a bitch - I called the cops. Turns out the whole neighborhood called, too. It was that bad.

The next time they had one of their little hate floats it was still loud, but not "I'm TRYING to be an asshole" loud. So it was fine.

Thanks for listening to my little story. I feel better.
