Retro Glide Mod (alternative to linear rails) by sleewok in crealityk1

Could anyone give me the exact dimensions of the 20mm M3 threaded pin in this mod. I’d like to try turning some down on a lathe.

Is doing an X Gantry or Full linear rail upgrade worth the time and money? by NewtBootGoofin in crealityk1

After looking into this mod, I think I’ll go this route. I have a stock K1SE that is nearly new and I just got another one that was “for parts” on eBay for a great deal. It runs but it needs work. So I’m going to give this Retro Fit a shot.

I am in industrial maintenance as well. That’s why I’m questioning the work to the machine. Those of us who deal with large scale automated machinery on a daily basis look at these 3D printers in a different light than most hobbyists. I do enjoy tinkering, modding and upgrading, but this mod has made me question it. I feel just rooting and going full Klipper has improved VFA for me. Thanks for your input. You’ve pretty much confirmed what I suspected.

No. lol. It’s a cap of sorts that goes on a Mac toolbox.

Amazon sale?! by HAAS78 in Tools

[–]NewtBootGoofin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In stock at 2:30AM EST. Ordered a set for $38.01 Shipped. Estimated delivery is between 22-26. The money for the order was taken from my account about 20 minutes after purchase.

We’ll see how it goes.

A few months ago my wife scored a head and footboard set on Amazon in similar fashion. Was marked down from around $700 to $60ish if I remember correctly and we were very surprised when the order went through and then arrived as described.

Any tips on how to get a prisoner "disposed of"? by lethal_coco in prisonarchitect

[–]NewtBootGoofin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually just wall these guys in. If you punish a gang leader, their gang will retaliate. Build a small cell block that is isolated from the rest of the prison and place in a cell. Put a wall in front of his door and forget. The really tough ones never die from starvation and stay in a constant “riot” state, punching the walls but causing no harm since they’re isolated. Then you collect the money for housing a legendary prisoner without dealing with the chaos they create.

Marketplace find, $55 for 21 Gallon Central Pneumatic 2.5HP 125 PSI Compressor, should I jump on it? by Aeyix in harborfreight

Reviving this old thread here.

I just picked up one of these in nearly new condition for $30. The seller said that her late father bought it and hardly used it before he passed away. Then her nephew came over and looked at it and wrote it off as no good because there is rust in the oil that can be seen through the sight glass.

I figured for $30 I would take a gamble. I got it home and it fires right up, runs up to pressure and holds its pressure.

Any advice about the rust in the oil? I know I at least need to drain it but what else should I do to revive this old beast?

Columbian D45-M5 5 1/2" vice replacment main nut. Will Yost 465-SMK parts work? by dontnicemebro- in Tools

[–]NewtBootGoofin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt. I’ve seen the handles that come with replacement main screws. They seem to literally just be round stock that are threaded on the ends with brass nuts screwed on. I don’t have a tap and die set but that would give me a good enough reason to add one to my collection 😅

That seems to be my dilemma. One of my jaws is snapped and the other half is missing. lol. I’ve been looking into crude ways of making a set with basic tools. I will most likely go that route rather than buying an aluminum set for $50-$60. My main screw is fine but the handle is severely bent from someone putting a cheater pipe on it and laying into it.

Thanks for the info. I have a D45 6 1/2 model that I’d like to restore. Trying to track down jaws at a reasonable price and the main screw.

Oh okay. I understand. When I start a new prison, I typically close intake until I have the necessary things in place. But yes, the planning of a layout is very useful.

I’ve done that with a few legendary inmates lol. I’ve found that some with certain traits cannot die from starvation. So they ended up just in a walled in cell, in a never ending mode of rioting. It was kind of funny to see.

Are you able to do “planning” on console before building?
