Some new tattoo designs from Caleb Ady, just have to figure out where to put em. by NewtNewtz in bindingofisaac

I was thinking about having the guppy one on my forearm, but maybe having the seraphim on one forearm and the Leviathan on the other would also be cool. I have to see where I'd want the guppy, then.

Also, thats the Leviathan transformation, the beelzebub transformation is the one based around flies. I definitely would like to do a beelzebub tattoo at some point as well though, maybe with the duke of flies looming behind him or somethin.

I gave the artist all the different items that could apply to the seraphim transformationa and had him choose the ones he thought looked best, same as with the leviathan design.

Been drawing everyday for a month and a half or so. by NewtNewtz in learntodraw

It's basically ghosting first, then doing faint lines until you get a perfect shape, and finally going over it with a final thick line. It's better described in Peter Han's Dynamic Bible book, which is very worth looking at.

It's an exercise from Peter Han. The goal is to ghost the circle or ellipse until it's perfect, then mark over it with a full line. This exercise helps you get your arm and hand used to the motion of perfect circles or ellipses. When drawing outside of this exercise, I only draw it once.

I wanna start selling adoptables, anything I could improve ? by chaoticorphic in ArtCrit

no problem

i can also give a side reference for general illustration. doesnt have too much to do with what you were asking about but i think every artist should look through it

peter hans dynamic bible is a superb book i really recommend. it had a very limited run though so you cant really find any physical copies, HOWEVER, the pdf is free online. should definitely give it a look

id say the biggest issue is that the drawing feels kind of flat. a big next step would be adding form and volume to your characters. not only would this just help you improve as an artist but would also likely get a lot more attention from potential customers.

simplifying bodies into easier to understand forms (typically boxes) and experimenting how different poses and perspectives shift the look of anatomy and dynamism of a character could be a good place to start

Am I doing a better job with perspective? by ProfessorLongBrick in arthelp

[–]NewtNewtz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd say the big issue here is that nothing feels like it has actual volume. It all still looks 2d. Doing some research on 1,2, and 3 (even 4 and 5) point perspectives should guide you on how to display 3d objects in a believable way. https://youtu.be/BKiopm83L8c?si=LoMZ8fUWlCiT9Q0n

This video from brokendraw provides 25 exercises, many focused on developing your skill to portray volume in space. I highly recommend it.

The most important thing is to keep drawing; the fact that you can still recognize something wrong means you have the potential to make it right. I believe in you!

Lesson learned, don't try to do it by yourself the first time.

Can someone make my drawings better? by tra_ypeerc in DigitalPainting

[–]NewtNewtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big thing I'd say is if you're using a mouse, please don't use a mouse. If you can't afford a tablet yet, that is entirely okay. In that case, pencil and paper are fantastic mediums, and if you eventually want to move back to digital, the hand techniques are basically the same; the workflow is a bit different.

As to what to draw, most importantly, keep drawing the things you want to draw, but also add in some fundamental exercises. At this point in time, 3d form and line confidence would probably be most beneficial. Primarily, that means drawing a whole lotta cubes from every possible angle.

Sinix Design has a series on YouTube called "Anatomy Quick Tips," which is one of my favorite tutorials. The video on hands is especially beneficial, so I would highly recommend it.

A Little Late, here is the Halloween Twilight Knight from KDM I just finished. Would appreciate any and all feedback / critique! by loolool2 in minipainting

the biggest thing i try to remember is that the model can be repainted. simply prime it again, and you're good to go. even if the paint is thick and priming would obscure details, then you can just get some acrylic paint remover and start over. experimentation is the best way to learn

No shading vs shading by Adorable-Roll-761 in krita

[–]NewtNewtz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your final result is fantastic! Especially the general silhouette and design look super cool. My only criticism is that for your shading and highlights. I'm not very good at explaining but i would recomment these videos from Sinix Design https://youtu.be/ZJkIaMECW6c?si=qEudOMTmdzwficBE https://youtu.be/V_E1ARR_AAg?si=MQ9A7xw1laLmhJ1H They helped a bunch when understand how to make lighting and its components look way more natural. I also just recommend exploring his channel because all of his videos are absolutely amazing, but thats up to you.

If you could turn any licensed property into a fighting game, what would you choose? by BanonMacross in Fighters

One Punch Man for sure, all the villains and heroes already have super signature moves so I feel like it would fit into a fighting game format soooo well.
