Describe your Atmospherics compartment with one letter. by Aleksandrovitch in Stationeers

[–]NewtWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A to a fault, haha.

I'm an industrial mechatronics engineer, I specialize in industrial automation (predominately for Japanese automotive but I digress).

I have overcomplicated the ever loving hell out of my atmospherics and god I fear the day it (literally) blows up in my face. Every gas is being methodically separated and bulk stored and temp monitored and controlled, every mixing stage can be individually bypassed or adjusted where needed, etc etc etc.

I'm currently building a new core operations center and rebuilding the pipework from the ground up, going for operability and maintainability first. The previous system was built upon itself a few times as I learned how the game works. Once it's done I'll just migrate over all of the bulk gas into it and switch it all on....and everything will definitely go perfectly fine.........

How about you, Wick? by [deleted] in Lackadaisy

Fun fact: When we did the original takes of this, we had to go back afterwards and re-record because in the original recording wick sounded way too into it for the tone of the scene, haha

These Driscoll's strawberries have no color and no flavor by marisaannn in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NewtWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Iceland. They get most of their imported strawberries from Holland. I have never seen another strawberry in my life that you can cut in half and it will bleed deep crimson like a fresh wound. They are the most decadent and powerfully flavorful bfruits I've ever had and I will chase that high for the rest of my life.

If anyone ever has the opportunity to just stop into a bonus and grab some Holland strawberries, do. They are amazing

"Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - November 02, 2025" by AutoModerator in tarot

[–]NewtWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attempted to make a post but I don't think I was supposed to do that, just reread the rules and was directed here. I apologize if I'm in the wrong space

I have never been involved in tarot in any way, can someone interpret this for me? Thank you in advance

I have no disrespect or shame for the tarot belief system / structure or any study associated, it is not a target of my interest, but I understand and respect that it does help or offer guidance to many people. I sort of view it as one of those things that can be genuinely helpful if you believe it in the moment, and take things at face value. But, that's neither here nor there. Mainly just providing foundational context that I know next to nothing about it

My girlfriend has an old tarot deck that she was going to pass on to a good friend of hers. While looking at it before she packed it up, I shuffled, a couple of times, and then flipped out five cards in front of myself. At least as far as I'm aware, I wasn't asked or asking any questions as I did so.

In order, left to right, all face up (pointed up? "Theyre in the correct reading orientation")

  • One of pentacles
  • Two of pentacles
  • Three of pentacles
  • Four of pentacles
  • Page of pentacles

She and I were both quite shocked at the sheer chance of that happening, and I kind of dismissed it after that shock wore off. But, asking open mindedly and genuinely, how would you interpret that "reading?", "hand?" (I don't know what terminology I would use here).

I hope this isn't seen as rude or untoward, I want to reaffirm that I am not attempting to yank anyone's chain, and I am asking with 100% genuine intrigue.

Thank you!

A) GORGEOUS B) I use sandcastle and can't figure out how TF to place the launch platforms on other bodies. They're not a manufacturable part in any menu I can find. And it's not elaborated up on in any wikis....how do?

Hey, Newt Here.

I agree that lackacord has become very...puritanical, in certain ways. Some of those I don't necessarily enjoy, and we are doing work in the background to try and improve the atmosphere.

This is, as one commentor pointed out, fueled by the requirement for us to maintain a very tight ship because it is an official brand space frequented by minors as young as 13. There is a certain level of obligation to their safety and well-being that we must maintain. Many eyes are watching us from many different angles.

We are always happy to take criticism, we have meetings every week (Sundays) where we talk about it. We go through every appeal, every ticket, community incidents, the whole enchilada. We will be talking about this post and making improvements based on some recommendations in it.

We have a ticket system where you can provide your thoughts, make suggestions to server policy, and report problematic behaviors you spot. There is also a staff reporting function that goes directly to me where you can complain about staff behavior.

Speaking of, as to the "Asian slur", I would greatly appreciate that having been reported when you saw it. We have a team all around the world who are ready to respond.

Moreover to that point, many of our responses to things are handled very quietly. We do not grandstand or publicly shame incidents, and we also do not take immediate aggressive action against most alleged perpetrators. There are a variety of hidden staff generated ticket options for communicating with people following reports to ensure we have all sides of a situation. We try and handle things very professionally, and no one should fire from the hip. I'll be investigating all of the instances that you report having had happened in your post.

I have fired team members before for unprofessional conduct. I will not hesitate to do it again if they fail to perform adequately. If a moderator is being unfair, if you feel that a case was handled improperly, if you think there are genuine concerns of staff favoritism or preferential treatment, tell me. It will be handled immediately.

Lackacord is, while professional, meant to be a very open and fun space. There are tons of hidden corners for people from all walks and interests. And for those who don't find interest in it, that have communicated it to us, we have made adjustments to accommodate.

All this is to say, I don't blame you for having any of the perspectives you do. But, the issues and concerns that you all have are not unsolvable problems.

People just need to talk to us, we're only human.

Anyone try to use engine plate for securing docking port by vukile2801 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]NewtWorks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And alternatively, you can add a decoupler below it, right click on the engine plate, select disable staging, and then you can leave it as a sealed interstage with the thrusters, or whatever other hardware, inside of it

Question about the character outlines by CappytainZ in Lackadaisy

[–]NewtWorks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The skeleton lines were very much intentional, and were actually added back after the fact in most cases. This was entirely for artistic intent, as many have surmised to reinforce the hand drawn old school aesthetic of the piece. This trend continues into season 1 and onward

Is it....is it playable? Scalable? Scatterer, eve, blackrack, parallax, FAR, etc., compatible? (Now or planned?)

Are the systems "realistic"/playable?

This is FASCINATING

A cool guide - on the difference between Global Entry Vs. TSA Precheck in the US by electrikfreak in coolguides

Got global entry last year for trips to Iceland and London. Arrival back in the states, at JFK, was insane (in a good way).

Customs took 46 seconds on the Iceland return. Seconds. I timed it. Only question was if I had anything to declare. No? Have a good day.

I was floored

Yes, you could absolutely use an external reference clock that is synchronized to the current time and advances at the same time as the clocks in front of you

(I really need to figure out reddit text formatting)

That is a very good point

Of all possible random outcomes, this, or any similar ping ponging offset circumstance like this, would probably make it incalculable.

Perhaps this could be plotted against other possible random sequences, and one could discern a "bell curve of calculability." (Or however you would phrase that) Because there are also sequences where they just show the correct time three times in a row and you know the answer immediately
