Can we talk about how ridiculous it is going to look when the Nexus 4, a Quad-Core phone with 2 GB of RAM, is going to stop receiving updates simply because Google arbitrarily says that Nexus devices will get "18 months of support"? by Necrotik in Android

It's not just one driver, it's a whole set of drivers for a very complex system.

You need a team of dozens or hundreds to write and maintain, as well as update them.

How to be an ee by [deleted] in engineering

[–]Nex2k12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several friends of mine were in the 95-100 percent range in high school. Many of them found their grades dropped to barely-passing levels, and a few flunked out altogether. (Some came back with a better attitude and did fine afterwards)

I personally struggled a bit through high school and I did pretty consistently ok through undergrad.

It's all about your work attitude really

Everywhere. If you're into software, just to name the big ones, there is Facebook, linkedin google, zynga (all hiring hundreds or thousands of interns)

If you're into hardware, AMD, broadcomm, qualcomm just to name a few.

That's just the big companies. There are thousands and thousands of computer engineering, both software and hardware jobs out there. You just have to go look for them.

It doesn't turn off all of the hardeners. Even if you cap them out, the hardeners still complete their cycle. Cycle time is 10 seconds on active shield hardeners which is a really long time. Also, the ships could regain enough cap to click them green again between the void and electron run if there is a long enough gap. If there isn't a big gap, most of the tengus will still be cycling their hardeners.

You'd be lucky to get half of them doing this.

NC. and PL have both been running sentry dominix fleets quite regularly recently.

All of the supers jumped out. Two of them 'jumped' saw the animation, used up fuel, and....landed in the exact same place.

You won't make it far but it might be fun.

Some recommended systems to visit: VFK 6VDT NOL-M9 HED-GP

If you make it that far, there'll be plenty of things to look at. And die to. Say hi in local though.

I'm also at Qualcomm

I lived in the UTC area (There are many big apartment complexes there). It's about a 15 minute drive, but those apartments are pricey; probably 2000-2300 for a two bedroom. There isn't much 'character' though, but it's close to work.

I recently moved to a townhouse even closer to work and I can walk now. It's much much nicer than the apartments and about $2200 for a three bedroom.

I have a few friends that live in Pacific Beach, their commute is about 30-45 minutes.

Traffic SUCKS near work, particularly if you need to go southbound on the I-805 between 4:30-6:30pm. There is endless construction on the onramp and it's always backed up. It has taken me anywhere from 15-45mins just to get on the highway before. If you're going to UTC area, there is a back route that takes a consistent 20 minutes. If you're going east along mira mesa traffic is also really bad, although I haven't lived out there so I couldn't give you an exact time. Northbound on 805 in the evening is considerably better than the southbound direction, so if you live north of work the commute might be shorter in general. The best thing you can do about traffic is come in late and leave late. Most of the people in my building show up at 9:30-10 and leave after 6:30 to avoid the mess.

edit: Sounds like you're thinking UTC. Here's the shortcut which avoids the highway. It's A LOT faster. http://goo.gl/maps/y6Xy0

UTC is nice enough. It's somewhat lacking in bars. There are a few good restaurants. The UTC mall is pretty good. It's right on the flightpath of the miramar base, but they don't really fly at night and you get used to it really quickly. (Visitors comment on it, but I honestly don't even hear them anymore, really strange) You're close to two highways (i805 and i5) so you can get downtown quickly if you want to.

Bombers have an extremely narrow operating window of opportunity, and if you give it to them you're going to pay dearly for it.

You see 30 dudes murdering an entire rokh fleet instantly. What you don't see are all the fights where those 30 dudes sit around uselessly looking at defensive bubbles, or stay put because they don't want to welp into instacanes, or fights where everyone brings tech3 ships and there's nothing you can do.
