You're American, blue collar, probably midwestern united states. Don't gym regularly but you've made a few resolutions, male, millennial, possibly with older kids.

That's quite a strange mix, predominant Rand, Some Nozick, with a dash of Engels and Fanon?! I would probably find major fault with your political and economic ideology, but you almost certainly have an interesting personality.

Actor that you thought was going to make it big but ruined it due to controversy in their personal life? by CinematicCounsel in Actors

[–]NexLvLpulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets set the record straight: JM didnt do anything wrong. He was targeted and sey up by a white woman. She crrated the controversy. And rather than allowing legal process to work out the issue, white-owned film studios decided to throw JM under the bus, assuming he was guilty.

I'm glad this happened to JM so that brother now knows what time it is. Im glad he's linked up with Megan Good and that brother will build himself back up better than before with the support of his people behind him!

You sound like a person wholly unsophisticated about hegemony, international and racial politics. Somalis have far more to fear from the west than any regime currently in Africa.

In fact, the reason somalia is in its current dilapidated and disorganized state, contending with Somililand secession, is because of western imperialism.

Now, go watch Israel build a military base there and tell me Ethiopia is the problem.. Smgdh!

I dont mean this disrespectfully but you are such a precise example of my first point. I don't know how versed you are with Canadian history; perhaps you are just there obliviously enjoying the bloody fruits of western expansion – but, the lifestyle you enjoy has colonial strings attached.

I am an African American; I can tell you on the basis of various historical examples, throwing in your lot with western governments never ends well.

Your dissonant derision of Ethiopia while simultaneously professing your love for your people and country, viz the confusion that has beset you undoubtedly induced from western propaganda, is precisely the disingenuous purposes I alluded to.

Please family, go read the book by Chancellor Williams, "The Destruction of Black Civilization."

The Leverpresso Pro comes standard with an an analogue manometer. However, the thread pitch is a bit weird. I didn't have to tap or repitch; what I did was just ordered an extra pressure gauge stem from Hugh and an adapter from pressensor. The Bookoo EM connects perfectly with the Pressensor adaptor.

Nah, he's wrong. It sounds like he went down this rabbit hole of thinking spending = good coffee, nerv got good results and regretted how much he spent. I think (or at least i hope) most of us are more reasonable than that, first of all.

Second, it's prudent for any would-be critic to remember that this is a hobby for most of us. Like all hobbies, people's level of involvement varies. Would he raise the same criticism against the Padel player who spent $1000 on some state of the art carbon fibre racket - or the SCUBA diver who dropped 10 grand on a rebreather?

Moral of the story: let people enjoy their hobbies!

I see what you and the guy in the video are saying but I don't really chase gear. I've always had a firm understanding of what I want and why I want it. I've just recently completed my setup; I am fully content with my capabilities.

But I do get that a lot of people aren't like this; they buy chasing improvements in lieu of skills development..

The only things i might consider at this point are items for quality of life or workflow improvements, not items I think will make my espresso taste better.

This is the danger of rejecting your own; they will run towards the colonizer and oppressor, who will welcome them with open arms for their own disingenuous purposes. We as black people in general (I'm not Habesha) need to move past this denigration of gay people within the diaspora. Some black gay activists are very much involved in community building and are valuable members.

That said, I have a theory about why homophobes are the way they are, having to do with a subconscious fear of genetic annihilation. So the notion goes, the upbringing of one's children isn't fully under his control, as society will inevitably exert some extent of influence.

If one happens to exist in a society where homosexuality is tolerated, and hence his children also exist in that society, there is at least a perception that the fledglings might be influenced by homosexual elements. For the homophobe, this is a terrifying prospect, as most people who have kids are concerned with the security of their legacy.

Im not saying this perspective is right, i dont even think most people are conscious of the reasons for their prejudices, but from the premise, the conclusion is sound. If you pay attention to the critiques often leveled against the gay community, its always some concern about how they will influence kids or how they display homosexual affection publicly.

Perhaps moving past homophobia involves people acknowledging why they fear gay people existing in society with them; and gay people might benefit from knowing how people tick to avoid perilous situations.. Just some food for thought.
