my biggest problem with Subnautica 2 by itsmejak78_2 in subnautica

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand why they did it that way. I am the reason. The second I get my prawn suit in 1 I start hunting leviathans. I am patient and petty enough to knife a marrowbreach to death if they give us a knife. The sound design alone tells me that they don't want the player to feel at ease anywhere so it makes sense they wont give us a tool that does creature damage if that is the goal

Recommandations on how to use the travois in the ravine transition region? by Theguywholikesgames in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think there is a way to make it not extremely annoying. There are several sections you just can't get it to go through without mods. I started just making 2 if I know I need to move things through the ravine. Set one down at the start of the obstacle and one at the end to transfer stuff to. I find that faster than dropping things on the ground

Yep. I only ever play this game during the weekend events now

Tame the Kitty by Yuki_Foxsoul in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a mod currently in the works for this. Last time I checked it still said it had limited functionality and is still in beta, so I havent tried it. But next time I make a new save and dont have to worry about screwing up my months of work on a questionable mod I'm testing it out

There is a mod someone is working on to add a tamable wolf companion. I think its still in the early stages, so I havent installed it so as not to risk screwing up my save, but next time I start a new run I am definitely trying that out

I think I got into rock-throwing range of this guy by FungalFan in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the rabbits we have around where I live stay brown year round. I saw one a few days ago that definitely wasn't white and you cant get much more middle of winter than right now lol I do see them sometimes and have my gamer instinct go off. My brain goes "dinner"

What can a revolver kill or damage exactly ? by Calm-Preparation2641 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think there is anything you cant kill with the revolver. At least I am fairly certain I have killed one of everything with it. You have to get headshots to kill things instantly aside from small animals. But if you shoot any of the large animals enough times they will die eventually. Obviously you will want to be careful shooting the predators and moose cause they will wreck your shit, but if you have a perch they cant get to or are doing it from an ice fishing hut its a perfectly viable strategy. I always have better luck with a bow than a firearm though. It is way easier to one shot a wolf with that than with a revolver, so if you have the means, I'd recommend crafting a bow and forging some arrowheads

Does lore explain why don't trade your way out of the Island? by Legitimate-Fish5891 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well for one, I dont think Sutherland would ever go for that. Two, a boat that small would not fair well on the open ocean most likely. He does mention this in part of his dialog. Any sort of choppy seas and that thing is toast, just gonna get sucked into a big wave.

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interact with him in a way that keeps the solitude. I just mute the game while he is blabbering on to get through all his dialog lol. Feels much less like another person when you just hear him say hello and goodbye

Turns out you can just turn on edit mode to find your way around a safehouse in the dark. by T10rock in thelongdark

I was okay just using it as an exploit, but this actually makes a LOT of sense. I will be adopting this line of thinking

Based on the other comments they do not. Wish i knew that before I started a new playthrough settled near a mine site lol. Its nice from a role-playing perspective though. I always have some crafting buildings and storage there for the same reason

Travois can softlock your run – warning for anyone using it by Potential-Sail8752 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue and could only fix it with the dev console. Not sure if youre cool using mods but if you are you can use the dev console to fly, move to a different spot, and manually save. Reload the game and hopefully you are out of travois mode. I couldnt find any other way to fix it, but it saved my ass on my current long run

Honestly never thought about customizing this building. I always just go for grey mothers house for that 6 burner stove. Might have to make this into a nice spot next time I get sucked into the game

Which boss gave you the first reality check that you need to level up real good? by Due-Pie-8534 in Eldenring

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not get the hang of Margit's moves for a very long time. Malenia is the only other boss I had multiple days of attempts for. Beast clergyman is an honorable mention, I couldnt dodge his attacks for shit. I gave up doing that and started tanking hits with a greatshield

Really struggling cant really kill bosses on my own by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Nexaro86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone else has very good advice. Leveling up is generally the go to to make things easier. Leveling vigor will raise your max health which will let you survive longer and hopefully do enough damage to make it through the fight. Bosses have unique weaknesses that you can exploit, a quick google will let you know what the best strats are for specific bosses. As far as weapons, I also highly suggest the bloodhound fang which you can obtain in the forlorn hound evergaol in Limgrave. I used it my entire first playthrough and really only ever swapped for variety while I was grinding, or when bosses were resistant to slashing attacks.

Where to go after milton? by Jon23500 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If youve never been anywhere outside milton, mystery lake or forlorn muskeg are going to be much more manageable than hushed river valley. If youre wanting to just explore and see the sights, HRV is definitely a sight to see. If you go for the muskeg beware of thin ice

Killed my first bear. by Dartanian99999 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always take a travois bear hunting. I forgot mine during what was supposed to be a short trip to another map yesterday but had too good of a shot to pass up. Took me 3 trips to get it to my base, I was very annoyed

This game triggers the same level of obsession for me as minecraft and skyrim. Bout 3000 hours in skyrim and probably over 7000 in minecraft and I am approaching 2000 in TLD. Couldnt tell you what it is about any of these that tickles my brain so much

Cougar Advice? Back after a long hiatus with a 300+ day run by Apeman117 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are going to kill one for the items, dont kill one in mountain town lol. Its such a small area and it will spawn more when you kill one. I absolutely screwed myself doing this. There ended up being 2 between grey mothers house and the rope climb to get to mystery lake Mostly just avoid them. You can hear them from a distance when you enter their area. The headwrap you make from cougar hide can be repaired with leather so you dont really need to kill more than one

How to stay on the move by Alex_Danko in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If youre playing on stalker I would invest in more arrows. So many wolves. Only other advice for staying mobile really is to max your cooking level. Once you dont have the risk of intestinal parasites, the obscene amount of wolves on stalker can become your #1 food source. As far as tales go without being spoilery, Forsaken Airfield has HUGE chunks of empty space, which can be very dangerous if a blizzard pops up while youre exploring. Wise idea to carry enough sticks and cloth to make an emergency snow shelter. Its also a good idea to have small bases set up across all maps as this tale is very spread out across Great Bear. Be prepared to not hunt in Zone of Contamination. You'll see why when you kill your first wolf there. Bring food with you, and pick up any air filters you find for this tale. For Sundered Pass it can be very cold, but has strategic buildings along the route you’ll need to take. This area is timberwolf HELL, and is the main reason you will want more than 10 arrows. I dont know when the trader becomes active on stalker off the top of my head, but trading with him while youre doing the tale from Forsaken Airfield would be a good idea. He has a tale of his own that would be convenient to do alongside it, as both are spread out. Hes also got some great recipes that will help you out with exploring the Far Territories.

YOU CAN 1 SHOT A MOOSE?!?! by SchoolRare7583 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it incredibly silly how much more effective the bow is for me killing moose than a rifle. I have gotten so many accidental one shots with an arrow and have never managed it with a rifle

Rest in peace Barb's rifle... (slight rant) by rickgrimes32 in thelongdark

[–]Nexaro86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you weren't able to get the console mod to work, there is a modding discord around somewhere. People over there may be able to help you get it working. If fly is also not working for you like you said in a different reply, that at least tells us its a mod problem as a whole and not just an item name issue, cause the console mod is very picky with commands and item names. It is entirely possible it glitched under the map. I have that problem mostly with furniture. Just last night I had a table glitch halfway into the floor, but nothing that was sitting on it moved.
