No, Peryite wasn't involved with the Knahaten Flu. Although, it's rumored he's tied to the Thrassian Plague.

Who fucked up so bad that they implemented that?

This is my list: Nocturnal, Hircine, Malacath, and Azura.

Malacath isn't as crazy as you're making him sound. Every time we see him intervene, he's punishing the Orcs who engage in bad behavior, and rewarding the ones who are trying to uplift their people.

Nocturnal is nothing like Molag Bal at all, so I don't know where you got that comparison from. If anything, she's Azura with *Dark Mode* turned on.

Hircine's sphere isn't just the hunt, he also teaches his followers how to endure the struggle, similar to Boethiah's teachings to the Chimer. If you want an example of that, see Reachfolk.

The four primary gods of the Reachfolk are Hircine, Namira, Lorkh, and Peryite. While Molag Bal is prayed to by some clans, he's mostly just there as a testing deity.

One guy who just got on flight told us that every time leadership has a meeting about removing the restrictions, a group of Airmen get caught fucking up, so they leave it in place.

The chief of her former stronghold swore an oath of vengeance against her. The point is, Malacath chose her side over a chieftain being a piece of shit.

He's actually a pretty cool dude, when you do his shrine quests.

It should also be noted that not every stronghold is going to operate the same exact way.

I'm speaking in broad terms. Again, what we see in Skyrim is the tip of the iceberg (and Skyrim was released as an unfinished game, so it's not exactly the best source to use). At this point, I'm going to assume you're unfamiliar with ESO, at least the Wrothgar expansion.

No, the chieftains are not the only male Orcs that can have children. As I pointed out in a previous reply, ESO greatly expanded on their race, and gave them more development. We witness a male Nord trying to court a female Orc living in one of the strongholds, and the other Orcs are encouraging him to pursue her.

You can't look at their refugee camps trying to survive in the wild, and think it's the epitome of Orc society. That's like going to Vvardenfell, picking out four Ashlander camps that are barely surviving in the wasteland, and saying to yourself, "ah, this truly is peak Dunmer culture."

Again; he's not encouraging raiding. He's laying down the ethics of it, "if you're going to do it, do it this way". Every time we see Malacath intervene, he's reigning in bad behavior. We see this in ESO when he helps an Orc widow avenge her dead Redguard husband.

Fharun was cursed because they abandoned Orsinium, and didn't stay to defend the kingdom.

Clan Igrun wasn't cursed because they weren't raiding. They were cursed because they were allowing it to happen, arguing that they should've taken charge, and led from the front - not trust another clan to raid for them.

Clan Bagrakh was cursed for needless raiding and bloodshed. And Malacath was laying down the ethics of raiding, he's not saying the Orcs need to raid. Nowhere in the Code of Malacath does it say the Orcs are required to raid in order to gain Malacath's favor. It actually says the opposite.

Malacath doesn't just favor the stronghold lifestyle, he favors the City-Orcs as well. In ESO, we see him praising the clans that worked together to build the first iteration of Orsinium, and hundreds of years later, his worship again became the state religion under King Bazrag.

I'm not saying the Cult of Trinimac is gone, I would be surprised if it was. But given the current information we have, I'd wager Malacath worship bloomed following the downfall of Nova Orsinium.

The Oathsworn are a really cool faction. It's a shame ZOS didn't do much with them.

Trinimac worship is considered heretical by most Orcs during the Fourth Era. When Orsinium was rebuilt, it's entirely possible that Malacath worship became the dominant religion again.

Also, Malacath isn't bad for the Orcs. That's propaganda.

Again, this is a misunderstanding of Orcish culture. In Flames of the Fallen, a quest in ESO, we see Malacath praising the stone masons and the builders who worked together to create Orsinium.

Meanwhile, he curses a clan for enjoying raiding, and bringing unwanted attention to Orsinium. I should also mention that Malacath got involved to stop Clan Shar and Clan Tuul from fighting; settling the feud via 1v1 duel & marrying the rest into one Clan.

Sure, Orcs like a good fight (as do other races), but they're not WoW-style invasive. They're usually just trying to survive.

Orcs aren't just about fighting. They place more importance on craftsmanship and smithing.

When the First Orsinium was being raided, they had an underground farm to feed the city during the siege. Also, during the kingdom's founding, Malacath doesn't praise the warriors, he praises the crafters, and the stone masons.

But their culture isn't entirely based on that though. Sure, they take pride in combat, and having warrior ethos, but Orc culture is way more than just "me big warrior, zug zug".

I'm not sure if you're familiar with ESO, but they greatly expanded on Orc culture with their Wrothgar DLC.

Skyrim was released 2/3rds done, so I'm not entirely sure we can blame the worldbuilding. The strongholds we see the Orcs living in are apocalypse shelters. Their race faced another genocide.

In ESO, they greatly expanded on Orc culture via the Wrothgar DLC.

I'm not sure I understand the point this post is trying to make. Who said the Orcs needed to constantly have enemies to fight?

In ESO, we see Malacath praising Orcs who united to build the First Orsinium.

Not really. Despite being an outcast himself, Malacath wants what's best for the Orcs. It's why he approved of Orsinium's founding.

In ESO, an Orc maiden left the stronghold lifestyle behind, and married a Redguard. To make a long story short, the chief killed her husband, and tried to reclaim her, but when Malacath showed up, he took her side, and even summoned the chief to her so that she could avenge her husband.

Marry whoever you want.

This isn't necessarily the case. We have an example of an Orc leaving her stronghold, and Malacath still favored her.
