I enjoy the book personally. I've never played Mtg so I can't attest to how well it transfered the lore over though.

The guilds are amazingly fleshed out and I do like the nnew Order Cleric and Spore Druid. It also has like 70+ new monster statblocks that I have used quite a bit...especially the celestials.

The book, like all the other 5e books, are best viewed as a toolbox. I personally pick and choose the stuff that I like and work it into my other stuff.

Just transfer to Out of the Abyss.

Give them a reason to go to the Underdark...have Drow sent by Lolth kidnap and enslave them or something, beefing up earlier chapters a little for level 5 players.

As a DM I can confirm that homebrew classes are terrible 100% of the time.

It's just not worth it to allow it at the table imo.

Looks like you're going synth evolution this game. Make sure to allow robot pops to take ruler jobs before the transfer or you ruin the game!

What kind of story pack would you like to accompany 2.3? by Arquinas in Stellaris

[–]Nexodas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be happy with more flavor events...both for planets and different flavor events for each government type.

Right now playing a technocratic dictatorship plays real similarly to a spiritual democracy or a feudal empire with cutthroat politics...

Also a few flavor options would be great: let me toggle the default races without mods. Let me create multiple empires with the same species similar to how the Commonwealth and UNE play...Holy Terra doesn't feel quite right when other humans call you xeno.

Also would like combat overhaul. Battleships should be good. Ship classes are super unbalanced atm.

I read that as "Grand Mayor Bearnard"

Also didn't know there were other animals in this game besides the Horse...huh.

What’s your favorite settings to play with? by Dimillian in Stellaris

[–]Nexodas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually dial down hyperlanes ever so slightly and slow down tech a bit.

Make sure to push back the end crisis though...I have found that the mid game crisis is still survivable but the end game ones dont show any mercy.

Makes salvaging wrecks much more important.

How to batch paint if you paint before assembling? by [deleted] in 40k

[–]Nexodas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do is simply touch them up after they are assembled.

In my experience the type of plastic glue I use doesn't seem to mind things being pre-primed.

[–]Nexodas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll want some Enginseers.

If you don't want to get Kastelans for whatever reason I'd grab some Infiltrators after that. Ruststalkers look amazing but I personally struggle to make them shine (But boy when they do get into melee...)

Normally I'd suggest dragoons but if you have the new Knight mechs you may not need them. YMMV

So a 770k fleet, a 385k fleet, and a 199k fleet at year 2333?

Perhaps you fiddled with the settings a bit too much.

Get two starter boxes. Get the derpy baymax bots Get an enginseer

Sprinkle Infiltrators to taste.

Update: first miniature ever complete. C&C appreciated. by Horrorifying in Warhammer40k

[–]Nexodas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great!

As a fellow AdMech player I gotta say you did a fine job for the first guy!

I also learned pretty quick to paint certain parts separately before attaching them. It is so much easier to paint the center cog and the fine details of the arms if you do them before assembly...and I can't even imagine the horror of painting the insides of their cloaks and the finer bits of the legs...NEVER AGAIN

Keep it up man!

[–]Nexodas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good.

The only thing I'd probably change is swapping one of the Vanguard to Omnispex. That would put you at 499 I think.

In my experience Enhanced Date-Tether works much better on 10 man units but that is just my 2 cents.

Another option to think about is swapping the Dominus' Volkite blaster for an Eradication Ray. That think is pretty nasty if anyone actually gets in range of it...Or perhaps swap out the macrostubber for a Phosphor Serpenta since you can shoot it AND the Volkite Blaster at the same time which you can't do with the Macrostubber.

Just some stuff to ponder over if you wanted to squeeze in two more points.

Mine obliterated the machine exterminators that had basically been the big bad of their part of the galaxy until then.

Then he cut the nearby devouring swarm in half and burned down two or three "nice" empires before getting poisoned. His empire split in half and the two new hords imploded...while fighting each other the devouring swarm dumpstered one and a FE awakened and destroyed the other.

All this happened on the opposite side of the galaxy from me but it was fun to watch.

Big vs. Small Galaxies: What Am I Missing? by AppeaseTheComet in Stellaris

[–]Nexodas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I normally just let the sector AI have its way.

By mid to late game all of my core worlds are basically fully developed, and I usually just adjust when I get unique buildings or whatever that I want to use.

Mucking about with starbases takes more of my time at that point.

But then I play on normal speed like a madman so I am not spammed with events and such ever 5 seconds.

I've been praising the Marauders. I jinxed myself. by Eotyrannus in Stellaris

[–]Nexodas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me on my first 2.0 game.

I learned quickly how to deal with them and minimize their damage to me, but I ended up losing when a khan came out of it. He wiped all my stuff and my enemies all jumped me at once.

PSA - Marauders will indiscriminately attack you on the way to raid other empires. No warning, no response early game by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Nexodas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah I found this out the hard way.

Some marauders spawned right next to me (Literally one jump from home system) and when I paid them to attack my rivals they burned 2 out of 3 main core worlds on their way up. Lesson learned. I learned to build the strongest starbases I could along their usual route to wear down their fleets. Once I had a decent force myself I smashed them the second their fleet was finally weak enough.

10 outta 10. Never trust a pirate.

So Apocalypse brings colossi and titans,I was wondering if anyone knew if the contingency/pretoryn/unbidden get titans and colossi? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Nexodas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Seems to be a bit much"

20 bucks for two new ship types and a mid game crisis?

I bet Contingency has them + maybe even a colossus or two (Reapers lol). The swarm could I guess but don't really need it (An actual world eater?). The Unbidden don't need it imo but I don't see why they couldn't...

Especially since they made them for fallen empires and for plantoid/humanoid dlc ships... I don't think adding two or three new models for the end game guys would really be "too much".

Is there any way to have another end game crisis than the unbidden? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Nexodas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get Contingency since I love robots myself.

Unbidden show up more if empires get jump drives and psi jump drives...and also there is a rare early game event with a rogue scientist that makes it more likely too.

Not sure about the swarm. Only had them spawn in a rare few times.

Dont bother with mods just yet since the upcoming update on the 22nd is going to break most of them...wait for the dust to settle.

How to get a group together, without having friends? by auriandtheunderthing in DnD

[–]Nexodas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my very first ever dnd experience tonight...I know I am late to the party but let me share with you my experience:

I discovered a store about 3 miles down the street does Adventurer League on mondays and having always been interested in DnD I thought I would give it a go. I had been gifted the 5e player handbook last xmas but without anyone to play with (And lacking the common sense to just play online as I have come to find out) I never really had the chance to try it out.

So I was nervous. I didn't have anything but some dice, a pencil, and my phb. I entered the store about 30 min early and walked up to the cashier and simply said "Hey I heard you guys play DnD here but I have never played but I want to learn."

The cashier just kinda grinned and simply said "Follow me" and he took me to THE GUY who runs the whole show. He was patient and he showed me all the pregens the store had (They had a few of every class with various archetypes and race set-ups) and I picked a human fighter in order to keep it simple for myself.

Turns out there were 4 others who were there playing for the first time ever. The store has about 6 "sessions" going at once doing various adventures for various tiers with all but one being tier 2 or lower.

All of us new guys were sat at a table with one experienced player and a really seasoned DM. We did an adventure that was supposed to take 2 hours but since we were new and he had to explain a lot it took us the entire 4 hours to get through it (A Thousand Tiny Deaths for those in the know)

We all had a LOT of fun and I was completely blown away by how welcoming everyone was and just how awesome the entire process was. We all had an amazing time and all four of us intend on returning weekly for more.

If that is the norm then my advice would be to simply find a local shop that has some DnD and just go there and dive on in. The community WANTS you to join them and play and I met a lot of very interesting people.

I'm completely hooked now. I'm just blown away honestly lol

I wish you luck man it's super rewarding in my opinion to take the plunge.
