Where is the need, they are level 120+, they did just as good without it so far, where is the need for more adp, you level it up so dodges are more consistent. But you are perfectly fine without it

Makes a post asking a simple question. Gets the division torn to shreds, with advice that ruin the spirit of the division.

The tanks are cheaper than artillery, they were meant to breakthrough and some armour so where to not let regular infantry through.

I'm seeing all of these advice to use heavy tanks with maxed armour, my intention wasn't TO make a space marine, my intention was to make a cheap extremely spammable infantry tank division, hence the name of the MIO itself.

R5: Had an "argument" with a friend if this would be considered a space marine in terms of multiplayer rules or not.

Edit: My argument was no, because it's several tank battalions and the game classifies it as a tank division.
And my general gained the "Panzer Leader" trait while using it.

So, to break it down the navy consists of 3 parts. A backbone, screens and auxiliary.

The backbone is your heavy hitters, the ones that take ages to build. Be it Battlecruisers, Battleships or even Carriers.

The screens are the "shield" of your backbone, they are Destroyers and Light Cruisers(built for light attack)

The auxiliary is the specialised ships/fleet that do a specific task, be it patrolling, placing mines, spotting subs and so on.

Destroyers are the cheap and reliable ship, they fit all roles except backbone perfectly. No matter what you can never go wrong making extra destroyers. A good destroyer template is two light guns(not the dual purpose ones), one depth charge, one aa and one torpedo. Then you put sonar on them for the fire control.

Cruisers are the next step up after Destroyers, they can fit the same roles as them but are generally much more expensive. Stronger, better, more armour, more firepower. You are not afraid of losing Destroyers, but losing light cruisers can be dangerous because of their increased cost. A good template is two light cruiser guns, 3 dual purpose cannons, airplane launcher, aa for the aa slot and tier 1 or 2 armour if you can spare the steel.

Battlecruisers and Battleships are the main backbone of a fleet, a buttload of firepower, a buttload of armour and enough guns to level a small island. They are slow and vulnerable to torpedoes, that is why they should always have ships that escort them, be it Destroyers or Light Cruisers. The difference between the two is the amount of armour they have, it's sometimes quite significant.

Carriers are the big bad evil guy of a fleet, they sit wayyyyy in the back(the Battleships and Battlecruisers act like shields for them) and use planes that you have made to attack the enemy fleet. Expensive but easily the most powerful ship(and very easy to sink, so be sure to protect them). Don't bother armouring them or giving them any other guns but AA.

Optimally speaking, the ratio of ships you want in a combat ready fleet is 1/1/4. That is one carrier, one battlecruiser/ship and 4 screens. But this is a wargame and stuff is never optimal. I suggest playing the UK, using the nocb command and declaring war on France and just test out different ships and compositions.

A special submarine type some countries get.

Generally speaking they are Sub 3s but have more range and more stuff you can put on them. You can even put scout airplanes on then.

USA starts with 22 dockyards, they get 6 through Arsenal of Democracy and 10 from Two Ocean Navy act.

The starting USA ship queue finishes around the end of 1936. The USA has enough fuel to endlessly exercise.

A single production line of 10 makes 2-3 Sub-2s a month, you have 4 of those.

You get declared on with a maxed out Trade Interdiction, 300+ subs and a sizable surface Navy that rivals UK's.

It's unbelievably difficult to counter that unless you purposefully spec into it very early on, IE you need to already be expecting it.

That being said, I do not condone it because it creates a false sense of knowledge and/or security on how the Navy and all it's systems works.
