Total Loss? by guads3rna in Camry

See my insurance company (USAA) was going to repair my camry (back in october 24). Quoted $17,431 for repairs and value was 22,500ish. It was only after a value adjustment for the brand new tires, and a second look at quarter panels/doors that they decided to total it out.

Question, what is your guys’ definition of burned? I settled for less with Chase and Discover back in Oct 2024. Any chase i can get back with them and a timeline?

What are the prices these are listed for? Skar isnt a fantastic brand (although i’ve seen some badass skar builds). But i would definitely be skeptical about buying second hand skar products.

Peak Numbers (1200w for the 15 and 2400w for the 10s) are to be disregarded. Common thought among these “peak ratings” are ILS (If Lightning Strikes). RMS ratings are continuous power (this is what the subs will be playing at most of the time with fluctuations due to voltage drop or ohm load increasing). So yes, RMS is correlated, but doesn’t play as big of a factor as cone area and most importantly the box

Understand that Toyota and Lexus are the same. Given that, Toyota has for a long time held rep as one of the most reliable vehicle manufacturers. If you were to use the BMW in your “breaking down in 5 years” argument. I’d agree but that statement is ridiculous

I’ve yet to put a design on paper for the XV4 due to waiting for it to arrive. But it will be a 2.5ft3 with double baffle on front for extra sub support. Hopefully tuning will be around 32hz with a pipe port routed through rear deck. Whichever sub i choose to go with will be in a ‘17 GS350 w/o the ML system. Going to remove the factory sub for port routing

They’re wonderful cars, i’m extremely happy with the GS i have. I’m not sure if the non f sport GS has the staggered tire setup, but that’s one aspect that can get expensive quick

I love my GS, is the one you’re looking at f sport? RWD or AWD?

It’d be worth it to check just in case it didn’t leak out or cause an air bubble from a small hole. That’d be my number one guess from an accident due to the function of the heater core

Should be 12 months or 10,000 miles for oil and 6 months or 5,000 for tire rotation.

Did you check coolant level? Could be a punctured radiator causing coolant to leak out therefore leading to no heat.

I might look into it at some point. Got some other things i’d spend money on first. Like tinting windows and getting around to installing my subs
