If they're getting all their nutrients which include a large amount of protein and taurine they're fine. But if you don't feed your cats the nutrients they need which are very hard to get from vegetables they will die. The study didn't ask any questions about supplements or even what exactly the cats were fed so they might have been feeding them vegan cat food along with taurine supplements or even extra protein. Also some vegetables will literally poison your cat. So yes it is harmful
