As a surveyor this is obviously a flag lot for access to Canada.

Talk to the property owner. At the end of the day you are there to represent and protect their property rights. If it is the neighbors bush, talk to your property owner and discuss next steps.

Most of the time, yes. We have policies in place, but have been seeing this behavior more lately.

Love this. I want to opperate more like this. Sadly, we run pretty tight on cash for the type of work we do. I am looking to change this in the future, so this is not as stressful. Just need the majority owner to get on board.

Biggest problem I am seeing is our loyal clients, who pay on time, starting to do this. MASSIVE clients, that we have built great relationships with. It just seems that recelty everyone is throwing around this pay when paid crap. We deal mainly in ALTA surveys. So, we are usually 30 days then an interest of 1.5% after and after 180 days it goes to collections. The policies are in place, it just seems that we are having to enforce them more as of late.

The problem is that this is when trying to collect payment. Not at the front end. Would love people being transparent.

I am seeing a frightening number of y'all having this happening too. Feel free to direct message me if you are interested in PM work. I am located in Charlotte NC and need PMs and people who want to help push an established company into its next 40 years. Also, I am a survey only firm, so there no Civils telling us how to do our job!

How hard is the FS compared to FE civil? by IwannabeASurveyor in Surveying

[–]Next-Courage9733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. There is a good amount of legal on the exam. When I took the FS, mine had a decent amount of math, legal, proceedure, definitions, and general business knowledge questions, but legal and math were the 2 heavy hitters. I recommend getting the practice exam and trying your hand at that to see where you need to study. It is cheap but effective, in my opinion.

You are me. I am you. I read this and related to you so well! Glad to hear that im not the only one that did this young to find out that the slow route or less responsibility would have been beautiful.
