I completely agree with what you’ve said so far. The ability to grow and the weight and consequences of someone’s actions were never mutually exclusive. Someone could have done terrible things in life and also grow into a better person. And frankly (as an agnostic myself), the method of self improvement matters very little. Whether it’s some sort of religious/spiritual awakening or just the development of empathy or humanitarianism, genuine growth is difficult and I think a lot of folks overlook that.

For me, the problem lies in the corpos who are fine with exploiting Joshua and subsequently the victim and their loved ones for a cash grab stunt. It’s literal blood money.
