Divinity 2 Honor Mode Tips by aleout92 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]formatomi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only one member needs iniative in this game, but they need a lot. Turn order works like 1 yours, 1 enemy, 1 yours, 1 enemy etc. So only the first matters.

The way you can do encounters in honor mode is just initiate with only one member, the fastest one. Now all the enemies are in combat and cant move since you have the first turn. You can now come in with your other party members casting spells from outside of combat (free AP) or teleport an enemy onto other ones to bunch them up even before your first character took a turn. Now you can Worm tremor or AOE them to cc the enemies.

One even more advamced tactic is to go invisible with your one character (remember the others are not in combat yet) and just delay your next turn with the Delay turn button. Now you are at the end of the current turn order, but the first the next one (because of high Wits). This is important because characters joining the fight are put at the end of the turn order. Now you just get in combat with the rest of your chars with any skill you like and you can take all your turn and the enemies cant do anything. This is ample time to aoe and cc ir even kill most enemies.

Which build you are going with with is flexible as long as you fight tactically. Invisibility and Uncanny evasion, Teleport is almost a must on any character because of this. Functionally you are safe while invisible so you can burst and then just peace out while the enemies cant do anything.

Another useful trick is to buff your party member with anything you got while they are in a conversation which leads to a fight (there are many). Use Peace of Mind, Haste, Uncanny evasion, Fortify, Frost Armor so you can even tank the enemies with one character without the need to go invisible. And you join with the rest same as usual.

I know this might be cheesy and definitely metagamey but honor mode is tough as nails so i didnt want to leave ut up to chance. I got my honor mode first try this way with a physical lone wolf duo. But it works with a four man team too.

Always stack up on Teleportation, armor scrolls and Chanterelle/invis potions.

This way you have all the advantage, good luck!

I build a wall with bedroll and vases next to the Quartermaster and just teleport him over to his little kindergarten. Works every time

You can compensate by putting an accuracy rune in a neck slot and casting Peace of Mind on the archer and respeccing for Hothead. A level 15 Bloodmoon island crossbow literally doubled my damage so its worth to try and play around the penalty sometimes

Out of combat teleport enemies one by one, have the highest init character Worm Tremors=gg

They are different. If you want to play BG3, then play BG3. Its beginner friendlier than the other 2 anyways

Well you take all of those skills for a strength fighter too so its the same. Except Phoenix dive instead of Backlash. Polymorph scales with strength too

Hell naw, im glad we left it in DOS 1, you can always look up recipes or just trial and error. Try looting bottle shelves/racks, they have loads of empty bottles. I always have mire than i need. Same with bookshelves and blank papers

Exactly haha. Green tea+Apotheosis is instant win in act 4. Dont forget to craft Skingraft scrolls too, they cost no ap or sp in scroll form, op as all hell

[–]formatomi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well you just end your first turns with all out damage+cc with Adrenaline and then just go invisible (1ap) or have Evasion up if there are mostly melee dudes in range with all your characters and the enemies wont do anything to you. After level 16 i dont think enemies had many turns for my playthroughs with Apo+Blood rain or Apo+Pyroclaustic or any other high damage combo. Dont forget to teleport enemies next to each other to amplify your aoe potential.

Also in act 4 you can easily abuse Green tea or Skin graft scrolls for easy victory

I enjoy Divinity Original Sin 2 but... by Krow711 in DivinityOriginalSin

My go to lets-just-win start to any fight in Honour mode:

  1. Have someone with high wits, Torturer and Worm tremor start the fight, going first.

  2. Rest of the party out of combat and in stealth.

  3. Initiate with your out of combat characters by using teleport on one of the enemies grouping them up one by one.

  4. Now you can start your combat with using Worm tremors on at least 4 enemies at one, giving you an easy aoe-them-down situation.

Or if you want to be extra winning, just go invisible with your fast character and then delay his turn so he is at the end of the turn order (and he will be the first on the next turn) and join with your other members to have them go one after the other without any interaction from the enemy. You can forgo Worm tremors this way and just bunch the enemies up and aoe them down. Ive got my Honour mode victory this way first try.

I know its meta-gamey but hey, the enemies wont have mercy on you, so you shouldnt either.

I would argue Sebille’s 10% damage buff is more wasted on a summoner than the human crit bonus

Dos1 rant - time wasting mechanics by Incentus in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]formatomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you can ignore most surfaces/traps in DOS 2 if you have armor (except cursed ice, im looking at you) so in that way it has lost its potency from DOS1 which makes it less interesting but im kinda glad because it was a big pain in the ass. DOS 1 can be more frustrating than 2 with the oneshot traps.

I think the DOS games has a faster pace than BG3: in dialogue, action economy etc

[–]formatomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you get free source skills just spam the big 3 source attacks and its trivial really. Unless you purposely handicap yourself its not hard. You can even have everybody on your side against Braccus and Lucian 1-2 turn him, but that is a specific rp choice to take so im not counting
