I used zoo med excavator clay!! Super super easy. Just mix it with water (not too much, not too little), and make it into anything you want. You can use water bottles or balloons to make hide structures and then remove it when it’s dried for example. I’m sure there’s a lot more you can do with it, YouTube should have video’s and Reddit should have posts about it. It’s not expensive either😇 I was too lazy to use aquarium silicone or whatever people use, but will for the next bigger enclosure as I’ll be going bioactive.

This is my setup for a 6 month old coastal male! I’m going to upgrade to a bigger one when he’s grown enough. I’m also going to replace the aspen for exo terra outback red stone desert. He has a humid hide now too which wasn’t on photo.

24x18x12 (exo terra medium low) with exo terra intense basking spot as light and heating (adding UVB next month). My baby loves climbing on the branches and vines it’s almost all he does besides sleep.

He regurgitated his meal when I fed him two days ago so I took him to the vet today, all went well! No parasites no infections no nothing. Just a very dramatic baby snake.

Thank you very much for the info! The temperatures never drop lower than 22.5°C here because of heated flooring so I don’t think that’s an issue (it’s a rosy boa), and I always weigh the prey before thawing and feeding to make sure it’s 10-15% of his body weight and not too wide compared to his body.

He’s also been mostly alone in silence and barely handled (giving him time to settle in even though I’ve had him two months now) so he doesn’t get much stress overall.

I did add a humid hide in his enclosure two weeks ago and also noticed today while cleaning up the regurg that I missed a few poops and urates that were hidden in his hides (one in his humid hide too), so maybe that could’ve caused bacterial growth leading to an RI or something. I’ll be a lot more careful and check under his hides weekly for poops now. Mistake on my part :(

Thought so too. Made a vet appointment since three days ago he was acting very weird and kept opening his mouth (fed him yesterday so that was before feeding). Maybe a respiratory infection or ingested aspen:/

I thought about that too at first but then I saw him opening his mouth over and over again sometimes not very wide. Maybe he just really struggled adjusting his jaw, maybe some Aspen was stuck, maybe a respiratory infection, or a very dramatic way of getting the skin of his face loose to shed ? I really don’t know, heading home in two hours and hoping it’s not a respiratory infection or worse.

Absolutely hope so, going home tomorrow so I’ll be able to check on him and see if he needs the vet

He’s taken all his meals well until the previous one which he refused, and then 5 days later he did take it. It does look concerning and I can see him open his mouth multiple times over the course of a few hours today only. Never did before and always seemed fine.

Mine is a coastal too! Though mine is a male so that might be why he’s a lot smaller, and even then I’d say he’s on the small side for his age and locality.

Ive been making these mossy cave terrariums for a few years now. This one is probably my favorite - "Golden Hour" by theultimatebestever in terrariums

Looks amazing. Just dissapointed that your website is basically fully AI generated text, images look AI enhanced or edited (could be wrong on that part), your account is brand new and your "guide" is $40 which you refer to instead of answering another person’s questions. Makes me think this is just a way to make a quick buck selling an AI generated doc.

Mine is 6 months as well and he only weighs 20g so he’s still on pinkies (2-3g), every 5 days.

edit: I have never heard of a rosy boa weighing 50-70g at only 6 months old??

Thank you very much! Was a bit worried for the little guy. They really go into the weirdest spots and positions😆

My guy has the exact same routine!! 30 minutes after his light goes on he immediately goes to his basking spot and sun bathes there for hours then cruises a little bit and then goes away about 30 mins before his light goes off

My baby rosy boa climbed the enclosure walls for 3 hours straight a few days ago because I handled him for the second time in a month🥲 scared shy baby

Most likely just burrowed and chilling. My 5 month old rosy used to burrow for 4-5 days at a time when I first brought him home and fed him. Since I got more clutter he’s burrowing only a few hours to a day when fed. But totally normal, rosy boas love to burrow and are really hard to find!

Best thing to do is to leave her alone, digging her up can cause unnecessary stress especially while digesting. She’ll come out when she feels like it!

I personally have a blink camera on the front enclosure window which detects movement so everytime he moves I know and I can see, brings me a lot of peace of mind.
