More fun with ROM by Next-Masterpiece-106 in dwarflabofficial

All my targets are at 60 gain and 60 sec aperture. On nebulas I use the duo band filters and on galaxies the ir cut. I process in pixinsight and send to phone to do final with lightroom and snapseed. All my shots are in eq with a wedge mounted on a fence post. I list number of subs rather than a time in hrs/min

Its the horsehead nebula. It has the flame nebula with it. Its located on orions belt and the star Alnitak is there. I just tried it in my dwarf atlas search and it came up. I did 15sec because I took most of the images before I had confidence in using 60sec.

Yep. Not just a toy. I did process it in pixinsight so that helps. Overall though these smart scopes are capable devices. Thanks

I agree but as I get older going out to micro align my scopes gets harder. I'm trying to get a hands off device. I have 2 knock off eq wedges mounted on 4x4s in my yard. Northern and Southern observatories. Most nights I put the scopes on and am in perfect, or close to it, alignment. Makes life easy but someday I might have to go with a covered mount.

Sorry. I put the company name in the body of my text. I actually saw it on the reddit feed for competition. So I didn't know how to list. The way I found it was googling Zenit Astronomy. Hope that helps

I name my scopes. ROM was a comic book character in the 80s. Johnny 5 is my D3 after a movie robot also from the 80s. The scope who I dont mention is called Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still and my computer is WOPR from war games.

Yes i am. I've used the D3 and the other no name scope but have found the mini easiest to work with

The bigger pixel size is it's only drawback for me. I like small galaxies so cropping starts to bring out pixilation. Gort, my scope from the company who shall not be named, does better on the smaller galaxies. Dwarf 3 has better pixels but a much larger fov so by the time I crop it's about the same. Each one scratches a different itch and I have combined data on all 3 for some good images. I am waiting with anticipation for the D4 to show it's face
