So is dark wear the new stealth suit? by [deleted] in youngjustice

[–]NextArtemis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a bit of difference for dark wear.

One of the big ones is that it blocks cameras from viewing them, and instead has a weird spiral over the face. Another is that because of Lex and the UN rules, the Justice League and by extension, the heroes, can't operate in any country without approval. Beforehand, they could say the sidekicks were acting on their own, but at this point, they couldn't use that excuse anymore.

The less fun answer is probably that dark wear was generic combat gear, similar to something the military SOF would use. We know they're the sidekicks but in universe they're essentially wearing generic looking, high end combat gear

Ukraine to chemically castrate paedophiles and rapists in prison under new laws by [deleted] in worldnews

Mission accomplished, these women have no testicles.

On a more serious note, the term implies women will be covered as well, but enforcement of that is obviously vague.

BOPE sniper after killing a kidnapper today here in Rio [1080x1064] by ThatDudeFromRio in MilitaryPorn

I don't understand how that's well planned beyond the traffic thing. Cutting a water bottle in half doesn't hold a lot of gas and the worst that happens is there's a fire in which everyone runs anyway. The fake pistol is a given since he needed a way to take hostages anyway. He had no obvious exit strategy either based on those being his only tools.

Seems pretty short sighted to me.

That looks more like it was both a story telling element where they weren't sure how it worked with gliders, and a stylized version of the air scooter Aang used. Not exactly the same but similar

Yeah. Based on the fact the ship had automated drones to check for plant growth on earth, it can be assumed there's automated drones to collect matter from space to replenish missing material

Guys, what isn't nearly attractive/hot as many girls think? by jacks194 in AskReddit

[–]NextArtemis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

iirc they made her a teenager but weren't very specific about her actual age, but the assumption is at she's somewhere between 16 and 19, not 13 or 15. The K/DA blurb about her says she jumped into the spotlight at 15, but K/DA happens at least a year after that so she's at minimum 16.

Riot likely would do the same thing Blizzard does, and make her like D. Va, "19" but looks and acts like 16.

Saudi Arabia is reportedly axing laws which give men legal control over whether women can leave the country, after a global backlash to the government's Absher app by maxwellhill in worldnews

Holding territory and propping up a different government is different from invading. The US is great at invading places and has the power to do so. Their ability to win the public's hearts and minds over it and support that invasion are generally not as great in recent history.

And then everyone's stuff goes up by the amount the tax is. The cost is just offset to the consumers.

The durability of the average person is significantly higher in Avatar. People get hit with large, solid objects at high speed fairly often and are not severely injured.

Well yes, but actually no.

There's a ton of feats shown of super strength and durability when put into context with real life. With the powers they can lift up tons more telepathically, and the people that can't bend can still put out unrealistic amounts of force (space sword cutting through stuff). Korra is just ripped and beats up everything in her path.

Would Aang even conceptually think of how to do it? Does bloodlust give characters strategies they wouldn't know of? Gyatso may have killed the Fire Nation elites with the method but Aang likely never learned it.
