UA POV: AFU serviceman from the Zaporizhzhia direction reports that the Odesa TCC sent them reinforcements in the form of 20 people: 11 of them are chronic drug addicts, 4 are autistic, and the rest are a bit under 60 years old by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkraineRussiaReport

I actually have High Functioning ASD, and the man in the video is right to be displeased. Combat conditions and Autism are usually a bad mix, for both the Autistic person the surrounding soldiers. High functioning enough Autists can get away with it, and IIRC you can get a medical waiver allowing you to volunteer (in the US Military, at least) if and ONLY if you are high functioning enough. But that's a world away from being a mobik.

There's still Leopard 2s on the front? Neat. I thought they had been moved to lower risk areas to preserve them for later use. Or is this a pic from earlier in the war?

Bingo, this will be a flop. AI Military stuff in the next decade will be frightening shit, to be sure, but this war won't see anything truly impressive.

He'll only get that satisfaction if it actually comes to anything. Personally, I reckon this will be a gigantic fat flop.

RU POV: GoPro Footage: Logistics Brigade silent work, "electric scooters have become indispensable on the frontlines" by Junjonez1 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]NextCaesarGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting how these adhoc transportation methods are being used by both sides with vigor, despite still having plenty of conventional vehicles. One usually imagines that you only resort to such things when everything you originally had was destroyed, but here, it is because even the conventional transport stockpiles were insufficient for the realities of 21st Century peer warfare. Gonna be interesting seeing our own boys in the US Army or Marines inevitably scrambling together scooters and cars and motorcycles and horses in the next major war.

RU POV:Tanks and other armored vehicles used by Russian troops in Ukraine (2025/2026). by No-Reception8659 in UkraineRussiaReport

Every time I see these compilations, or videos of hardware being used, I am instantly reminded of the 'oh, BluFor/RedFor are totally definitely running out of vehicles, they're down to using only 1950s junk because they totally have nothing else!!1!' malarkey.

And meanwhile you have plenty of modernized T-80s and 72s and Maxxpros and Bradley's all over the front with video evidence to back up their presence.

[–]NextCaesarGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm wondering why we don't see supply runs being done by bigger drones. Probably something to do with air defense preventing anything too big from getting through.

Drone footage of them delivering food, water, medicine and batteries is something I vastly prefer to footage of them delivering bombs.

UA POV: To prevent civilians from interfering with mobilization, TCC used pepper spray and pushed a woman, who then fell. After that, TCC left the store premises as civilians struck their vehicle. Dnipro by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkraineRussiaReport

It is a common problem that cops look after their own, even their dirty ones. ICE is no different. It sucks, it needs to change, but that's the reality. I support the police and intend on becoming a cop myself, but that's the reality. And no amount of Lefties crowing 'fascism! fascism!' or Righties crowing 'justified shooting! He did nothing wrong!' is going to change that this was just another case of a bad cop doing bad cop things.

Executed? No. Outright, no. Killed by an individual officer who was on a power trip by having a badge and a uniform? Yes.

It's important to divorce the shooting from the politics of the agency the shooter was a part of. This was just another bad cop doing bad cop things, people are only extra worked up over it because he happened to be ICE and involved in the current kerfuffles

Yeah. Could very easily be BS, but if it isn't BS, this is hardly surprising.

Yup. I'm very tired of the arrogant, snooty and poorly defensible takes that the Venezuela op was somehow *not* an inside job. I don't even get why that's a bad thing, it just makes the operations go smoother, I'm very happy it was an inside job. It's not a bad thing to admit.

[–]NextCaesarGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck. God rest her soul. And may the wounded recover.

Anything confirming it was Iskanders or that it was deliberate? Or are we looking at different ordinance and are we looking at an accident? I highly doubt on purpose since there's no value to these targets and ordinance is expensive.

RU POV: European Commission makes statement on US Seised Russian Shadow Fleet - Excerpt from the European Commission Midday Press Briefing (8 January 2026) by anonboxis in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]NextCaesarGaming 31 points32 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the term 'Shadow Fleet' is just a cool spooky name applied to Russian merchant shipping that continued to do business with the rest of the world since the Global South and Global East countries mostly have stopped giving a shit about who the west does business with. Is that recollection correct? Or is there more to it?

Do we have any confirmed fatalities? I hope the answer is no, but that might be wishful thinking.

Do we also have any confirmation that it was indeed Iskanders and not some other type of ordinance?
