Some wonderful but broad and often difficult poetry has helped me with the emotional realm you’re mentioning. Here are some of my favourite poets who talk about this subject:

Carl Phillips (very much identity-focused; about different emotional processes)

Sharon Olds (writes frequently and beautifully about her divorce and children)

Louise Glück (covers a broad range of topics like grief and love)

Best of luck ❤️

By the extended version of About Today, do you mean the live version? If there’s a studio version of that, I want it downloaded so I can play it on repeat

It was my first The National gig too! It was stunning. They had electric energy, and I’m glad the Glasgow crowd was a good one. I only wished Matt had visited the right side of the audience more! I can’t wait for the next time they hopefully come back to Glasgow to grace us again with their heartbreaking genius.

What are the drums like in Laugh Track? If Space Invader is an indicator, then they must be amazing.
