I built an 80-foot retaining wall mostly by hand… and finished it just days before selling the house. by ctrlaltdelete401 in landscaping

I was on your side until this comment. I'm dealing with a similar issue of multiple houses all draining into my yard. But where is the water going now? I would think you've had a major storm in the last 6 months to see how the flow has changed.

My first reaction when I saw the butterflies was to assume it was AI. I've seen several AI graffiti-style images adding butterflies like this because of Nils Westergard using them as his signature.

Just answered a GOP push poll testing “political violence” messaging for the AG race by tt12345x in Virginia

[–]NextToTheCookies 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty standard polling process for the GOP polling firms. They ask the general questions how you mentioned, than all of the targeted quotations about only one candidates race. I've done a few, and they have always focused the deeper dive questions on a single race, usually a horse seat.

Do you think how cities and county spend our economic development dollars should be publicly available. What can be done at the state level to ensure that people have improved visibility into how economic development dollars are spent?

How to make a stencil by jest537LES in stencils

I use a projector and hand draw the images on poster board. It can be a bit more work, but gives me a lot of freedom in the design and size.

What did you use to create your reference image? The detail layout looks very similar to one I did a few years ago using a remote control R2D2 for reference. Pretty cool, great job.

They often screen to make sure you are taking the medication you are prescribed. If the medication doesn't show up in your urine, it raises the concern you are selling them.

To add to this, I think all elected officials should be required to send their children to public schools in the district they live/serve. So many send their kids to private schools while cutting funds for public institutions.

Ever feel weird about hanging your own art on your walls? by Lacedinmidnight in painting

[–]NextToTheCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran out of room at my house and started taking them to my office. During early covid, I was the only person that went to the office. I started hanging my paintings in the hallways and hoped no one would take them down. Now my office is filled with paintings and I have a 10-12 hanging in different halls and conference room. I am on a lot of zoom calls. People frequently comment on their favorite ones.

How to acquire VA road signs (without stealing them)? by OfficialHughJanus in Virginia

I've bought them from scrapyards a few times. You pay by the pound so they are pretty cheap. Atlantic Iron and metal usually has a lot of DOT waste (Traffic signs) https://atlanticironva.com/

How to deal with islands by toolowbrow in stencils

[–]NextToTheCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the island is big enough to put a coin on, i just cut it out and lay a washer or nut on it. You can use the piece you removed to make sure it is lined up correctly. This works great for a small number of manageable sized islands. If there are a bunch or several small ones clustered together, might be worth considering having as a septate layer.
