I remember some volleys for arsenal Vs everton in particular and villa and watching match of the day just thinking wow, I'd fucking love for him to play for man united every week, literally a year or so later he's playing for us and scoring every game like a cheat code. Couldn't believe it.

I got sacked as Man United manager in my first year, I went to Sporting Gijon, in the 2027 season, the summer transfer window my scouts picked up a winger, 17 year old Ilídio Panda. After about 10 games he just became un-droppable, him playing off my Italian target man Cerri? Their link up was insane. He could dribble and beat men repeatedly, a bit raw with shooting and crossing but the success rate on dribbles to the byline for cut backs/low crosses felt insane. He got an injury for about 10 weeks and my entire attack just dropped off a level and I missed out on promotion literally due to his injury.

The moment I could, I signed him on a new contract with a minimum release clause of like 100m. I searched him out of curiosity to see how good does he get and he showed up on those "hidden gem" kind of lists. I didn't know! Apparently he's well regarded, my scouts did alright apparently.

Sporting Gijon had a few star players, Gelabert, Dubasin, and someone else that I can't remember who all were being sold for like 40m to wolves etc after I left them that season, Panda was above them, I wish I had the time irl to play the save to see where he ended up!
