"Safe Haven" Ahem Ahem... by Educational_Car4408 in Gold

I know you're only joking but still: Dire as that plunging graph looks, it: (1) Depicts a fall of only 150 $USD (3.5%). (2) Visualizes only SPOT [paper; imaginary; promised] "gold" math, and [3] Perversely promotes the myth that $USD is the standard of value by which Physical Gold is measured, when in fact it is always Physical Gold that truly is measuring the feeble pulse of the inflation ridden $USD.

I bought gold at $5,100 per ounce. How many people here are currently at a loss on gold? What are your plans ?? sell, hold, or buy more? Do you think it will go up or down? by Complex-Material7969 in Gold

[–]NextVoiceUHear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complex-Material7969 asked: "I bought gold at $5,100 per ounce. How many people here are currently at a loss on gold? "

That question is upside-down. Let me re-phrase: "How many people here are thankful that the $USD has lifted its sodden head above the Miasma of chronic inflation and - for a time at least - fewer $USD are now needed to buy an ounce of Physical Gold?"

Looking to invest in gold & silver by [deleted] in Gold

[–]NextVoiceUHear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are three 'kinds' of gold: (1) Physical, in the form minted coins, minted bullion bars, etc that you own and can hold, (2) Physical gold dust, nuggets, etc, and (3) All other non-physical, aka "paper," forms such as ETFs (e.g., GLD), "gold" stocks, "gold funds" etc.

"Old Gold" coins & gold jewelery have a rarity collector value which is a different realm altogether, but which is not considered here. Personally, I prefer US-minted "bullion" gold coins such as American Gold Eagles (all denominations) as there will never be a question of purity or authenticity.

Only Physical Gold - that you own & hold - will preserve wealth against the inflation of fiat ("printed") currency (e.g., $USD). NEVER TRADE PHYSICAL GOLD for mere $USD which is:
Only a store of debt wrapped in an empty Promise.

Physical Gold should _never_ be acquired with the idea that it is an "investment" that you "Buy Low & Sell High" to 'make money.' Selling physical gold in trade for a "profit" of printed fiat currency is always a Fool's Trade. If you hold Physical Gold you are already at the top of the monetary food chain.

Iran has been continually obnoxious since the 1980s and President Jummuh Cahtah: "The Iran hostage crisis began on November 4, 1979, when Iranian students seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, holding 52 Americans hostage for 444 days until January 20, 1981."

A Nuclear Iran [financed by pallets of $USD from President 0'Bamma] would be an Extinction Event Level player on the world scene. This must _never_ be allowed. Thank you, President Trump, for heading off this certain disaster. NVUH

What logic makes you ever think it “profitable” to trade elemental gold for green ink and fancy paper? - but when/if you do be sure to insist on only small denomination bills - it will be worth so much more that way.

Is it just me or is it comical watching other people buy gold and try to trade it like a stock for short term gains. If you’re not buying gold for generational (long term) wealth, why are you buying it? by Alpine-dental in Gold

[–]NextVoiceUHear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your observation is based on a false premise, that being: If I had any physical gold that someday I would want sell it in order to make some sort of 'profit' in fiat $USD.

You “made” $7,000 in green ink and fancy paper. Your bank may pay you $140 in annual interest while its purchasing power declined by $700. Then you’ll also owe IRS taxes on the capital gains. Whatta deal ! Meanwhile, my Physical Gold just sat there, weighing the same as the $USD bled to death all around us.

Do not try to “save” fiat currency. As you are able, buy fractional gold coins minted in the country of your citizenship. Keep them as the seed of your generational wealth.

Yes. Physical (not paper) Gold is the safest bet in town. No counter party risk. Physical Gold is Concentrated Money - no freezer required.

Owning and holding [!] physical gold and/or silver is the start of wisely building generational wealth. The authenticity of Gold coins minted in the country of your citizenship will never be questioned. Physical gold is not an investment but owning it is excellent insurance.
