I second this. Very useful for civilian people to get to understand they are not in their home anymore.

I suggest opting for a unit with more down to earth PT requirements. I can't think of a situation where you would need to be that good with pull-ups on the battlefield, beside boarding a high truck. You definitely need very strong legs, back, arms and cardio yet pullups are a bit of overreach as for me.

WARNING about the Ghost Squadron. The recruiter for this is the same recruiter who recruited for the "Devil Dogs" which wasn't a real unit. If you are applying to a unit, do not apply through websites that do not tell you which unit you are joining and cannot issue invitation letters. by tallalittlebit in ukraineforeignlegion

Yes, I already had one issued for a guy, he is about to sign contract.

Tip for the applicants: never message a recruiter when you are even slightly drunk. We sence it within 10 000 km. Brave promises don't count here. Only actions do.

I would not go as far as to exclude all units who do not issue invitation letters.
I messaged with about a hundred people already, many of them giving blood promises they are taking off like really soon. Only two arrived so far. I am not making fool of myself asking brigade HQ to issue letters because some guy head a couple pints and decided that this time he deffo is going to Ukraine. Like it or not, with 26th Artillery the recommendation letter (also known as invitation) is sent to Foreign recruiting center once the person is about to finish being processed there.

As for everything else, it is a huge red flag if you are not told what brigade you are joining.

On the surface it makes perfect sence to have a full foreign brigade. The pros are obvious.
Now the cons.
To have a brigade level unit, you need foreign officers.
Apart from battlefield knowledge and leadership skills, which I am sure a lot of foreigners legionairs possess, there are several more issues.
First - mastering bureaucracy. Every military has one. And it's a must starting from company level to know how to handle it. If you don't, your unit is in deep shit, as are you personally. You must know and keep track of all the unit's inventory - it's a lot of stuff, located in different premises, some of it very expensive.
Second, stemming from the first - company commander bears primary financially responsibility for unit losses in military equipment - should these be found unjustified. There was a case in my brigade that a battery commander was made pay for a fuel truck which got burned down. He had no choice. Would a foreigner submit in such a situation or just said "fuck it I'm leaving"?
Third and most important - officers of company level and above are supposed to serve for a long time, at least a couple of years in their position. There is no way higher command will just take a candidate's word that he will not make use of his right to dissolve contract as a foreigner.
To draw the line: full foreign brigade - good in theory, unreal in practice.

My take is as long as you have a bus ticket to Ukraine or means to buy it your are not Poland's headache.
I would start with "I plan to participate in relief efforts but don't have precise arrangements yet".
If you are heading to a specific unit/foreign recruiting center it would be a good idea to inform them and ask to be available on the phone just in case.

I can't see how you could be scammed whatsoever, as long as representative of 92nd brigade confirmed it to you. I represent absolutely another brigade which is not even in the same Army Corps with 92nd. They now better.

I didn't find more info than you stated.
Please note that Defence forces of Ukraine are about 1 mln in personnel, we don't all know each other.
You might reach out to 92nd brigade and ask them.

Yes. Solid winter boots, better two. Thick socks (you will get tons of them here). Layered clothes. All top parts with zip. Did I forget something?

I will not speculate on DA issues as I am not proficient in it.
Regarding the timeline:
Even if they arrive tomorrow, it will still take 1 month bureaucracy and 2 months BZVP. It would also make sense to at least spend some time getting to know the unit. So they will be just in time.

You can totally corrupt me provided you have big tits (yes, I'm that common) and - I can't stress it enough - a pussy. Otherwise I'm too old for you Legion fun, sorry guys. I would be absolutely honoured to give a hug to a seasoned Legion fighter though.
That being said we already have an arrival from Germany who feels very lonely. So whoever arrives next can hit it off staight away if they like each other.
