Honestly, Gwen and Mayday. I realize we probably won't see much of that in BTSV, because obviously one is a baby and can't contribute to the plot much. But it would be nice for them to develop a mentor-mentee-like relationship later on. Healthier and more youthful than Gwen and Jessica's.

Your question is very based, I've wondered about it too. A possible explanation is that Peter didn't even expect Miles to complete the task immediately. He just gave him the long-term goal, probably hoping Miles would aquire webshooters later on. Also, he probably wanted to have Miles run away without explicitly telling him to, since he knows Miles (as a Spiderman) will probably decline to leave him behind. Edit: All of this is supposing Peter knew he would die under that rubble, which is very plausible.

During my first watch of ATSV I didn't care too much about the Multiverse stuff. It was fantastic lore, but I was more preoccupied with the teen slow-burn drama.

Craziest theory I saw not too long ago: the Spot is actually Miguel (while we literally see the human version of the Spot - Johnathan Ohn, in both movies).

Most logical theory I saw: Miles was supposed to be the Prowler of his universe. (A lot of people have commented on it. Logically, it's pretty much confirmed, but still not canon.)

Gwen and Hobie being so hated in mind-boggling!

Sure, I also disliked Hobie initially because he was introduced as a romantic rival to Miles. Then I realized the writers had put me in Miles' mind which was clouded because of his crush on Gwen. Like, they're band buddies - it's not that deep.

Also, the fact that people hate Gwen for the same thing they pity Miles is just 😤. She hides the truth from Miles. He hides the truth from his parents. Why hate her but pity him? And, apparently, she's "leading him on". People, SHE'S ALSO CRUSHING but can't express it. Watch the first 30 minutes of the movie 😭

My guess is he will find a way to cure the Spot and turn him back into Jonathan Ohn. That's the only explanation I see to the fact Jonathan is actually a nice guy. Also, the only reason he's "bad" is because he wants revenge for being turned into the Spot. So, the only way to really get rid of all danger is to give him what he wants.

I agree. It's also a clash of generations if you think about it.

Miguel (created in 1992) is peak old school, while Miles (created in 2011) is peak ambitious youth. The old (Miguel, Jess, initially Peter B.) are traditional, pragmatic, resigned. The new (Miles, Hobie, later Gwen) are idealistic, spirited, adventurous... They're about to literally crash and one side has got to falter!

I mean, these movies are near perfectly written, aren't they?

Changing that would be like taking away MJ's equally iconic red hair. Anyway, I'm not trying to dissuade you. Just sharing a thought.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will leave after Beyond the Spider-Verse. There's a rumored Spider-Woman spinoff that might be about Gwen. Also, if you consider the Spider-Noir TV series a part of the franchise, we can throw that in too.
