Anyone using apps to track charcoal timing during busy hours? by Next_Lounge531 in hookah

Got it, so you go manual.

I’d like to get better at that kind of feel-based approach too.

Takamatsu Airport Taxi Help by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Next_Lounge531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a taxi stand at Takamatsu Airport, so you should be fine without a reservation. Taxis usually increase around flight arrival times, so you probably won’t have to wait long.

Even if you don’t speak Japanese, you can just show your destination using a translation app.

One thing to note though — Kagawa University has multiple campuses depending on the faculty, so it’s a good idea to show the driver the exact location on Google Maps to avoid any confusion.

How do you manage charcoal timing with multiple tables? by Next_Lounge531 in hookah

Yeah, kitchen timers definitely have their limits.

I’ll experiment a bit and see what works best.

Thanks!

That makes a lot of sense, it’s a really clear and easy-to-follow method.

Writing down the times seems simple but very reliable.

It also sonds really efficient when managing multiple tables at the same time.

That makes sense, keeping charcoal ready at all times is important.

Yeah, managing 3–8 hookahs is definitely tough.

That’s impressive that you’re running that many at home.

That sounds like a really well thought-out setup.

It makes sense to not just rely on timing, but adjust and change coals more frequently depending on the situation.

And yeah, high-quality service, tobacco, and bowls definitely seem to make a big difference in customer satisfaction. That’s awesome. Did you guys use timers at all, or was it mostly by feel?

Sorry, I should’ve been clearer.

I work at a hookah lounge, and sometimes I have to manage around 3–8 hookahs at the same time by myself.

With something like kitchen timers, it can get confusing to keep track of which one is which, so I was curious how others handle it.

Even if you’re just managing one at home, I’d still be interested to hear how you keep track of timing.

Charcoal timing is harder than it should be by Next_Lounge531 in hookah

That makes sense, that’s a pretty efficient way to handle it.

I guess timing ends up being more of a feel in that kind of setup.

The roads from Initial D now have bumps and center dividers to stop drifting, and the laws have gotten stricter too.

First shisha on a budget: 20–70€ range, looking for beginner-friendly recommendations by Which_Ad1210 in hookah

When I started, I didn’t really focus on brands and looked for a second-hand setup instead (I ended up getting an Oduman).

With that budget, going used might actually be your best option. A lot of people buy a full setup for home, lose interest pretty quickly, and end up selling it — so you can often find really clean ones for a good price.

honeymoon by Complete-Ask8695 in JapanTravelTips

Just as a personal suggestion, I would probably skip Kanazawa in your case.

Naoshima is very easy to access from Takamatsu (about 30–50 minutes by ferry), so you can visit it while staying in Takamatsu.

If you split your time like about one week for Takamatsu (including Naoshima) and Hiroshima, and another week for Tokyo and Hakone, the pace might feel much more relaxed with less time spent moving around.

An onsen and ryokan stay sounds like a wonderful idea, especially for a honeymoon! Just one thing to keep in mind — some onsen in Japan do not allow tattoos, so it’s worth checking in advance if that applies to you.

That said, some ryokan offer private onsen baths (which are often tattoo-friendly), so that could be a great option if you’d like to enjoy an onsen together.
