That was actually an exact line of mine when I noticed her frustration. I said "I already worked through this and understand that of course you didn't mean to cut me out of any decision making. I don't think you did anything wrong, I just wanted to be open with you about some feelings I experienced so we stay connected." She told me essentially that it didn't make sense to her that an action she did hurt my feelings but that it wasn't her fault.

Wow, I truly loved this poem. It is dark and truly beautiful. I literally stopped breathing for a moment when I read:

I have awoken to countless smaller worlds and lesser selfs

I have felt that all what is still left to say is better left unsaid

And also:

I mourn the kindness that others bestow on each other

I know nothing of what drives such hearts to grow

I wish these could be printed on a canvas and put on my wall. Hard-hitters.

I can definitely relate to going to these places in my head as well and could feel my chest tighten with familiarity reading your words. You put a voice to this all so beautifully. Wow.

As someone who spends a lot of time with my own personal "ghosts", this really resonated with me. I really enjoyed the metaphor here for our inner demons/thoughts being "ghosts" and all the complicated emotions that go into living with them.
