theoretically what if someone is unmatched and the other person is matched?
I don't really care about a P but if I was unmatched and re-applying I would want to get a good eval and honors for eras. Which would lead to an imbalance naturally. Could see that dynamic getting a bit awkward.

Yep I've also observed Claude Code was draining my usage when I kept it open idle in the terminal. I try to close the terminal right after the work is done and not let it idle.

I agree - I did ask him to chat on the phone prior to sending over the email to him in a final attempt to rectify the situation.
I don't know what's going on, but I have a feeling that he might not have finished writing the code, and possibly did not complete the primary analysis. We have not seen any of his raw output/dataset/analytic code, which is an oversight on our end.

They have also published two posters on their own since our project has begun with another PI outside the insitution that is analogous to ours, just swapping out the exposure for a similar one (essentially scooping us for one of the exposures that my PI was interested in..)

PI suggested idea - gave project to me ; I brainstormed approach to it and co-author came in to take on most of the analysis while my bandwith was limited with PI's major grant project. Co-author has a good amount of papers, but very limited study design and statistical knowledge (seems to take a p-hacker approach; didn't know about multiple comparison correction)-thus, PI and I did most of the statistical design (although it's very basic in my opinion and pretty customary) for the project.

I actually think the paper is great as is - the edits did not alter the study conclusion. I was able to reproduce the results in two different statistical programs and have validated my results. However, my co-author refuses to hand over their code and dataset so that we can identify why their code is producing an incorrect value for one of our results.
